Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --JYolkowski 19:20, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Welsh Highland Railway map[edit]

Nice map !. Any chance of changing the spelling of Quellyn back to its proper form of Cwellyn ? Thanks.

Done. TAS 18:22, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi -- and also welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed Ayinyud's alternative proposal on the discussion page -- and well, I ran with it. Be Bold! So please drop over and look at the messes I've made. Below is my initial note on the discussion page.

"I'll join in, but I think we all have to take some initiative to get this off the ground. The time constraints may be the main difficulty. After all, everyone here does have a real life, don't they? What if we took the info above, claimed a chapter, wrote from one of the listed characters or additional character's POV (I'll be Ethelynn, the new upstairs maid - Chapter 7, User:WBardwin/Chapter.), and then put it together and edit jointly for content and flow? Each character would tell about events before, the murder, and events after from their POV, then we would have different snapshots to work from. We could then jointly write the revelation of the murderer and the conclusion. Having the first chapter to work from would be important, however. How goes it. Gkhan?"

Hope to see you grab a chapter too! WBardwin 14:47, 29 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that I didn't revert far enough back. -- JLaTondre 14:45, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for your help on reverting that vandalism on my userpage. Although it´s quite funny to see those displays of idiocy. It´s an incentive to keep on contributing to see stupid people get mad. I´m sorry if that vandal is now trying to disrupt your userpage. It´s great to see there are honest wikipedia users such as yourself. :) Violenciafriki 23:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:393005000044.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --bluemask 17:05, 22 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Network_Colchester_Logo.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Network_Colchester_Logo.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for doing this: "(moved New enterprise coaches to New Enterprise Coaches: The company uses the capitalised version of the name rather than this one.)". I had brought this up on the talk page of the article. I would have moved the page myself but I down't know how to and I'll end up meesing it all up! Arriva436 16:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikiproject ELCB[edit]

Welcome to WikiProject:East Lancashire Coachbuilders!

Thank you for joining the project. I hope that you will be able to make a positive contribution to our effots so far.

However, as you have probably noticed, the articles have not been improved as much as I thought would be able to do. This is mainly because the East Lancs website (http://www.elcb.co.uk), which said the new look website would be finished eairly in the new year, still hasn't been, so only basic details of current and past products are available.

This hasn't stopped Unisouth and I from progressing on with things though, as my user subpage shows.

Here are some pages you may want to read:

  • User:Arriva436/WikiprojectELCBthings - Parent page
    • User:Arriva436/WikiprojectELCBtodo
    • User:Arriva436/WikiprojectELCBdone
    • User:Arriva436/WikiprojectELCBpages in the project

P.S. Since I last talked to you - I have learnt how to do a page move!!!

Arriva 436

Just to say I am having the sub pages deleted, as they are way out of date and inaccurate. I hope you don't mind me de-linking them. Arriva436talk 18:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Top.ht1.gif[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Top.ht1.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:40, 20 July 2007

Image copyright problem with Image:Hornby trains.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hornby trains.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 17:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Darwen group.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Darwen group.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:26, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About your user space[edit]

1) Get rid of all the signposts above, please. 2) {{Template:User crgs}} - at least look at it.

  • Point 1 is a long term objective but I'm loath to do it until I have time for a fuller tidy up. I've already looked at the template and rejected it. --TAS (talk) 19:27, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • I've now done point 1, once I was actually able to load the talk page to delete them. --TAS (talk) 20:27, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When did you last look at it?- Jarry1250 (t, c) 20:35, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
