Feedback on article ideas

Hi, User:Sugarhearty! I'm not sure who you are in real life! Are your initials MS? Will find out Tuesday! Great start on your WP work. I would suggest working on LGBT student movement over the other choices, which are either in psychology and hard to edit or are fairly developed already. The Youth in France idea is also a very good one.

I liked the edits for writing quality that you did to the Emerging adulthood article. Can you find a fact to add from our readings to practice adding content (as opposed to solely editing for writing quality) and to practice citations?Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 02:53, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

I swear I am not picking on you. I was interested in the topics that you chose. The youth in France would be an interesting topic and one I think you may enjoy learning about. The LGBT movement and the other topics sound interesting as well. Interested to see which one you pick.

Your proposal

Hi, Sugarhearty,

You have chosen an article that is ripe for revision. In addition to systemic bias from a global standpoint, it also lacks secondary school youth. As we've mentioned in class, a global perspective includes both examples from outside of the the U.S. and also a globalized framing of the article topic.

I do not yet have a sense of sources you have found on the topic. I look forward to reading the bibliography. As you post sources, please write a bit about what each source says and how it contributes to your potential revisions. What do you have, and what are you still looking for? Ideally, you could also inform a reader how the sources you end up with will shape the revision plans you mention in your proposal. This will shape the direction you go.

'Be very careful to write an article with a NPOV. Your final sentence on fighting for acceptance, while I agree with, needs a more neutral tone.

Feedback on sources

Congratulations on getting your sources done! I have reviewed them and have some feedback for you:

• What do you want to say with your description of sources as 'generic?' This will help you know what kind of sources you want to find as well.
• The ILGA page has much information about global issues. Can you find any global data at this source? How will you know what pertains to students/youth? How will you ensure NPOV?
• The literature review article ("The State and Status of the Field") looks like it has potential. What will you incorporate from it?
• Have you checked with the reference librarians to find more peer reviewed articles? How about an encyclopedia article?
• Keep going - I look forward to reading your draft!
