Proposed deletion of Steve Sexton Composer[edit]

The article Steve Sexton Composer has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, instead of writing it yourself. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. I noticed my entries were edited ..... thank you for whoever did it.

I had entered a long discography but am assuming it's not acceptable as it took alot of work?

Have made further changes as requested. Addition of Olympics was made as it was a major breakthrough for the band Exchange and Steve Sexton (and Gerald O'Brien), will search out any references.

Comment I'm the one who has made the changes. See my latest comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steve Sexton (composer) for why. You should now stay away from the article and make any suggestions for further suitably referenced claims to notability at the AfD discussion. First of all, because you have a serious conflict of interest and should not be editing the article at all, let alone having created it. Secondly, you don't understand what constitutes an appropriate and reliable source to establish notability. Please read WP:NM, WP:VERIFY and WP:RELY to learn more. Hi there, thanks so much for your message. I had initially tagged it for eventual deletion because it was a biography of a living person that had no sources, which can be deleted after 10 days. This is done to protect living people who may have disparaging articles written about them on Wikipedia. But once sources were added to the article I removed the living persons-related deletion tag. Then someone else nominated it for a more "regular" deletion regarding whether the subject of the article was notable enough, User:Rd232. But, sort of like a ball rolling downhill, once a deletion discussion has started, you can't really stop it. The only person who can officially close it is an administrator, so even Rd232 can't at this point. What will happen is once an administrator decides that the discussion has had enough time to run its course (usually about a week), the administrator will then examine the discussion and determine whether there is a consensus to either keep or delete the article. Then the administrator will execute that consensus. The good news is that at this point the consensus of opinion about the article is that it be kept (I myself voted keep). So unless the article attracts a lot more "delete" votes (which I personally don't think it will), then the article will most likely be kept. On a personal note, thank you for sticking with the process, it can be confusing and daunting to new contributors but ultimately it exists to ensure that we have the best free encyclopedia we can have.
