Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Tianjin International School have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. This is not the school's PR page. And please read WP:COPYVIO I have not bothered to check (sinve the material was already being removed as pormotional) but I strongly suspect that that material is either a verbatim copy or overly-close paraphrasing. Meters (talk) 04:54, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to claim that this material is not copied from the school's material then you have a conflict of interest, and should read WP:COI. Meters (talk) 04:57, 1 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Our policies on promotion, copying, and use of multiple accounts

[edit]

Hello Stellenli and J-Unicorndog, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stick around. A few of our more experienced editors have highlighted some problems with your edits, and I want to let you know about some of our editing policies.

First of all, it looks like a lot of what you added was copied from another website. We don't allow this, it's called a copyright violation. Any time a suspected copyright violation is added we must remove it immediately, and if an editor keeps adding copyright violations after we warn them not to, we have to block them from editing. Please don't copy from any other websites or publications.

Next, we expect editors to be bold and suggest improvements by making changes directly to articles. It's how Wikipedia works. However, when another editor has a problem with an edit you've made, you're expected to discuss your ideas with that user before you try to add the same information back again. If you just keep adding your content back after you've been reverted, that's called edit warring, and you can also be blocked from editing if you are found edit warring.

Last, I want to let you know about our policy on multiple accounts. We ask everyone who makes an account to only make one, and to always keep using that one account. Creating and editing from more than one account is dishonest, and if you use multiple accounts for any of the forbidden reasons then all of your accounts will be blocked from editing. The same policies can apply to two people who are using their separate accounts to work together for something that's not allowed by the multiple accounts policy, like if you team up to join in an edit war. I'm letting you know this because another editor has suggested that you might be breaking this policy with your edits at Tianjin International School. If you are working together then please be careful to discuss your edits with other editors on the page. If there is one person controlling both of these accounts, then you are required to stop using one of the accounts (you can choose whichever one you wish to continue editing with).

Please feel free to ask any questions on my talk page, or ask here using the {{admin help}} tool. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 15:54, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
