Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Stanleywalden, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Hello. A tag has been placed on Stanley Walden requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. The article Stanley Walden has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. A page you started (Stanley Walden) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating Stanley Walden, Stanleywalden!

Wikipedia editor Blythwood just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

I've finished off this article, adding citations that demonstrate it to be true and removing text that could be considered promotional. Hope that's OK.

Few explanations

[edit]

Hello. I have a few thoughts and things to explain about this article. I've linked to guides:

  • I'll just explain what Wikipedia expects from articles: that they be non-promotional and sourced wherever possible to published material and not anything that we can't verify. In general we discourage people writing articles about themselves. I'm going to make an exception as you're clearly a notable composer and there is no article on you already - but please don't add any kind of promotional material to this article or text written in your own voice as this would be likely to be removed. Such material would be better posted on your own website.
  • You're welcome to request that changes be made to the article though the "request edit" system. That tells you how to do this. If you do so, it's best to give us a link to a source that demonstrates that the facts you're asking to add are correct.
  • I'm assuming from your username that you are Mr. Stanley Walden, not someone else, representing him or not. If you aren't (even if you're his assistant, or secretary or publisher or wife) you should change your username to avoid confusion.

Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts. Blythwood (talk) 07:59, 9 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
