Race and intelligence controversy[edit]

Hi! You proposed the renaming of Category:Race and intelligence controversy here. I have removed it from the "speedy renaming" list, because speedy renaming is only applicable in a few special cases, like fixing capitalization and moving from plural to singular. For other proposals, the procedure at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion#Procedure should be followed. I've done that and listed the category here (I copied your comments to that page as well). Regards, Jafeluv (talk) 21:40, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jeff Aug requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Jeff Aug, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 01:03, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

naturalising epistemology etc.[edit]

Pleased to see someone working on this article, I will chip in on the weekend when I am back in my study The one possible dispute so far is posing naturalising approaches as being anti-religious. This is more common in the US than the UK, but science and religion are not necessarily opposed, there is a religious position that accepts natural explanations. Dawkins and others tend to polarise this but its not necessary --Snowded TALK 11:46, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's with the middle initials?[edit]

Hi! I noticed your contributions, and you seem to be removing middle initials from names. Is there a compelling reason to do so? Thanks! --Cyclopiatalk 02:54, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I like a clean, flat "what links here" for selected entries.--Standardfact (talk) 04:56, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand what do you mean. May you elaborate? Point is, if the name includes a middle initial, I don't think there is a serious reason to remove it. I may be wrong of course, but I'd like to understand why. --Cyclopiatalk 13:43, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
