Sith Lords[edit]

I have reverted your changes to Lightsaber. You appear to be adding imaginary Sith Lords. Care to provide sources for your claims? We cannot accept original research. Thanks. --Deskana (talk) 23:20, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not just undo my changes. I have never heard of these Jedi... but it is possible they do exist and I have simply not heard of them. If you can provide a source, it can stay in the article. Please? --Deskana (talk) 23:27, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but that's not how the Wikipedia works. We only include information that is verifiable by external sources. Adding sith that you yourself have never heard of seems silly, especially on the basis that 'you have never heard the name but they may exist'. Firestorm 23:37, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add them... I removed them. I think you misunderstood my message. I'm asking for a source for the imaginary Sith this user added into the article. Googling them appears to have brought new information to light- they are users on a Star Wars message board. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 23:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I think I get it. Anyways, they are from Extended Universe(EU) and are mentioned throughout many of the Star Wars books such as "The End of Life as we know it", "The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac", "Star Wars: The Jedi Acadamy Omnibus", and "Star Wars: Legacy of the Force Betrayal". I don't know where you could find anything about them online, but I can assure you they are from those short stories and comics. Most of those books were released 1999-2006. And I'm on that message board. It is a roleplaying site, where many of the users consume a role of their favorite character. Jace Arcage 23:43, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We need a source for that, such as a reputable website. Regrettably, we cannot simply "take your word for it"... I'm not entirely convinced that what you're saying is completely truthful. Googling some of the books gives results... but it did not indicate whether the characters in question were in the books. Some of the titles you provided gave only a few results. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 23:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Those are the only sources I know of that have information about them. I don't really know what else to tell you then. But very well; If you do not wish to believe, it is your choice. Delete them if you wish. Maybe you should try to find an eBook of them before you completely remove them. Jace Arcage 23:50, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It isn't actually a question of whether I believe you or not... it's a question of policy, in this case WP:NOR. It appears that it is "original research" so to speak, as it appears they didn't actually exist. Sorry, but without a source they do have to go. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 23:54, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ehh, So be it. I'm just trying to be informative to the world =-/. Jace Arcage 23:57, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's great, and I hope you continuing contributing to Wikipedia... just sourced contributions. Thanks for being understanding! --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 23:59, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a prob. By the way, I just spoke to the man who wrote "The End of Life as We Know It", and he's sort of upset. =-P Jace Arcage 00:04, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question, who wrote these stories? are they actual, Lucas-approved authors, or fanfic writers? Firestorm 00:14, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For the most part their Lucas-approved books. I think one might not be. But I've only spoken to 2 of the writers. I've spoken to the writer of The End of Life as We Know It and The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac. Most of them just aren't too popular, and I believe aren't known world wide. Jace Arcage 00:18, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You've spoken to the authors? You know them personally, met them at a convention or something? --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 00:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've met the author to TEOLAWKI at a convention, and the other I met online. I've got to go for now, but I'll be on later/tomorrow to continue. Jace Arcage 00:22, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And you keep in contact with the guy that wrote TEOLAWKI? Wow. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 00:25, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I try to, but he's VERY busy. I can probably only talk to him about once a month if I'm lucky. If not that, a few times a year. Perhaps next time I can tell him to email you or something of that sort.

Well, that won't mean we can include it in the encyclopedia... we need sources, as I said. --Darth Revert (AKA Deskana) (talk) 10:00, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
