Suspected sock, of a sock
Hi, a couple of days ago you blocked User:Kongu_Kaviyarasu_Gounder as a suspected sock, seemingly without going through SPI. Today an SPA has appeared on the same subject, clearly knows their way around posting refs to talk pages etc and is in a vague sort of way POV-pushing. The pattern is very similar, the language is very similar. The user is User:Palani_Anda_Nadu_Kongan_venman - could this be a new sock? - Sitush (talk) 14:48, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Looks like konguboy/pon deepankar. Spiff said he was going to be offline for this month and to report konguboy socks to User:Tnxman307 or file an SPI.--Sodabottle (talk) 15:14, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oh yes, this is him, creating an SPI to say he's a new user! I'll be off for a month (I think the note at the top of the talk page is probably not visible, will add it to the edit notice), I'll block this and protect a few of the frequently impacted pages now. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 15:31, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. I did see your note about being away, but thought that I would chance it as (here at least) it is still April. I've dealt with Tnxman before but the guidance about referring to him is appreciated also. - Sitush (talk) 17:25, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I did mean May, but was hoping to not get online for the last couple of days of April too :). BTW, since many of the maps he's uploaded here were deleted, he's gone ahead and uploaded them at Commons. —SpacemanSpiff 04:39, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Letting the Shudra fur fly...
In my ongoing project to target "caste puffery", I dove into Kapu (caste). Started footnoting everything I can, and also pretty swiftly found that they are (as I suspected) listed as an "upper Shudra" caste in most academic references. I added that in, so I expect to see some hatred and discontent coming my way from IPs, particularly as the article gets 4.5k hits per months[1]. I don't feel I'm being at all malicious by adding "Shudra" to articles where documentable, but I do derive some satisfaction from the idea that I'm fighting POV and forcing people to come to terms with academic reality. I know you're pretty busy, so not asking your involvement, but thought you might find it interesting. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:31, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

I see you are away at the moment, which is unfortunate. In any case, an article you created Julie Stockton, has been nominated for deletion; see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julie Stockton. The nominator seems a bit inexperienced and hasn't notified you, so I'm taking care of that for them. Cheers, Jenks24 (talk) 14:42, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
