Franco Melas[edit]

Franco Melas is an Italian director, author and television producer. Born in Como on 22 July 1971.

In 1989 he began his work experience, first dedicating himself to the creation of Euro Dance record productions, for international companies, such as Dig-It International, Media Records and later Sony Music Italia, initially as an audio engineer and then as a Co-Producer. In 1990, he founded a professional production studio in Como with Ivan Hoffer "Factory of Dreams" which later became "Phono Records" and this gives him the opportunity to devote himself not only to productions for third party customers, but also to the creation of advertising campaigns for Italian companies, then following the development and production of storyboards for TV campaigns, also thanks to already established professionals, such as the director Massimo Giordano who introduce him to this world. In 1991 he graduated in Cinema and Television Direction at the Experimental Cinema and TV Center in Milan, gaining experience as a free-lance video operator in private TVs (Espansione Tv, Antenna3 Lombardia, Tele Lombardia). From 1992 and in the following years, he continued his creative career in the world of advertising, also signing the direction of some TV commercials, (Giochi Preziosi, Bennet, U.S.Road, etc.), designing and creating Spots and Themes for both radio and television, among various we find: "Fenomeni" for R101, broadcast with Giacomo "Ciccio" Valenti, "Dear DeeJay", for Radio DeeJay with Federica Panicucci, Coppa del Nonno (Nestlè), Digimon for Rai 2 and many others.

Since 2000, thanks to his passion for everything related to communication, he has applied himself to the studies of a subject then absolutely unknown in Italy, the Product Placement. (At the time called covert advertising, then legalized and became "indirect advertising", thanks to the Urbani law of 30 July 2004). Franco develops new Product Placement advertising techniques and then transfers them to one of the of the most important Italian companies (name that cannot be mentioned for privacy reasons and agreements between the parties, but it is understandable), the aforementioned company still uses them today the techniques are now in common use by almost all productions. From 2002 to 2007, then in 2010/2012 he dedicated himself to directing and producing video clips music for various Italian, Swiss and Latin artists, produces and directs various video clips for young people emerging from the Italian talent shows Rai "XFactor" and Mediaset "Amici di Maria". In 2012 he produces and directs the music video clip "Feel the Summer" (protagonist Frank Matano) in favor of the Italian Civil Protection for the aid to earthquake victims of Emilia Romagna. The video has a good success, it is produced by Franco Melas, Francesco Facchinetti, and by Eugenio Scotto, the song "Feel the Summer" remains among the first places for a few weeks in ranking on Itunes, even reaching the first place.

At the same time, always from 2009 to 2012, he produces and collaborates in the production of various projects and TV theme songs created for Rai and Mediaset programmes: Saturday Night Live (Italia1, three seasons), Chiambretti Night (“only for number one” Canale5), Do you remember the Variety (theatrical show that started from the Teatro Smeraldo in Milan with the patronage Mediaset and then landed in various important Italian theaters, which he also takes care of television direction and live filming), Punto su di te and Star Academy (for RAI), etc… In 2015/2016 he wrote and produced an international format on luxury real estate in Montecarlo, entitled "Montecarlo Exclusive Properties", whose protagonist is the international actor Daniel MC Vicar, famous throughout the world for the soap opera "Beautiful". From 2017 to today, he has dedicated himself to the activity of author and producer of television formats, and he is above all Ghostwriter and Ghostproducer for various formats of Italian and European publishers.

In addition to the aforementioned activities, since 2018 he has been involved in the organization and planning of Start-Up Companies and projects related to the development of new Brands, designing, developing and taking care of all the conceptual, technical and Marketing aspects.
