DYK for Katherine Sophia Kane
On 30 May 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Katherine Sophia Kane, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Lady Katherine Sophia Kane was the first woman to be elected to the Botanical Society of Edinburgh? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Katherine Sophia Kane. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Irish windmills
Good to see that more mills will get articles. File:MAXWELL(1845) p130 Camp on Vinegar Hill.jpg might be suitable for inclusion in the Vinegar Hill windmill article. At least it shows that the mill had four Common sails. I don't have a lot of info on Irish mills myself, but am happy to chip in with advice and guidance. You might want to take a look at Stembridge Mill, High Ham and Thelnetham Windmill, which are both GAs - just to give you some idea of what to aim for where possible. A read of the windmill and windmill sail articles may be of use to give a basic grounding in the types of mill and sail. Mjroots (talk) 14:12, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Retiring and closing Kaffeeklatsch
I will be retiring from Wikipedia soon and wanted to let you know that I am closing down the Kaffeeklatsch. Thanks for expressing an interest in a place for women Wikipedia editors. Sorry I couldn't develop it. Lightbreather (talk) 19:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Lightbreather: I'm very sorry to hear that :( you're presence will be missed. I hope we can realise your plan some time soon. Take care. Smirkybec (talk) 22:45, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
