Declaring interest

[edit]

For the record, I should draw attention to the fact that at the time of writing I am a national representative on the Eurachem General Assembly and a member of the Eurachem Executive. These are unpaid roles: Eurachem is not my employer and I have no financial interest in promoting the organisation; the organisation itself is also nonprofit with a strong 'public good' ethos. Nonetheless, while I have tried quite hard to stick to verifiable information from other sources in creating this article, the risk of conflict of interest remains. The reason I've proposed the artice despite that risk is that while Eurachem is quite widely known and cited within the analytical chemistry community, that community doesn't include a lot of wikipedia editors so if someone interested in the organisation didn't create a page as a basis for further independent edits, I suspect it would be a long time coming. Wikipedia would then be missing even basic information about the organisation. Bottom line: theres a possible conflict of interest here so please be aware when reviewing. Independent corrective action gratefully received if there is so much as a hint of unsupported opinion or bias. SLR Ellison (talk) 10:49, 11 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
