You got me buddy...

If they are not acceptable, a quick pointer or word on where I can see the applicable policy/guidance would be appreciated. All the best, Steve Barton Skbarton13 21:44, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May 2024

Information icon Hi Skbarton13! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Suite for Variety Orchestra No. 1 that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Not a big deal, but please keep in mind. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 04:21, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I am used to doing truly minor edits and this one may not have been one of them. I was struck by the passivity of the lines noting how little Shostakovich there is in this piece. I’m no expert but I was surprised when my father said “listen to this great Shostakovich waltz” and I heard schmaltzy crap. Consulting this article I saw hemming and hawing around the point that tiny Shostakovich film cues had been expanded into short pieces w/o additional Shostakovich input. Maybe the mushy talk is the current state-of-play on this schmaltzy crap. I truly appreciate your help. Whaddayathink, should I revert the article? Skbarton13 (talk) 04:56, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
