Orphaned fair use image (Image:MythBusters title screen.jpg)[edit]

File source problem with File:Nikkor PC-E Micro 85mm.jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Nikkor PC-E Micro 85mm.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:50, 16 March 2009 (UTC). Jack Thompson[edit]
Hello. I just noticed the page you made for Thompson, and while I admire your goal, you can't do it that way. In order to move a page, you must use the 'move page' function, so that the page history is maintained. This is vital, as it maintains the GFDL. I'm going to nominate the page for deletion, and you should propose moving it on Talk:Jack Thompson (attorney). 24.99.242.63 (talk) 19:11, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

- You are probably right that the page should be Jack Thompson (activist), but, as was pointed out above, cut-and-paste moves are undesirable, as are duplicate articles. Now that the new name exists, I can't just move it there. Perhaps a posting at requested moves is in order as it will now require an administrator to properly move the page.... - 24.99, thanks for redirecting that back. I undid the cutI highly recommend that you get yourself an account.
- Beeblebrox, I think a (hopefully short/painless) discussion on the talk first would be good. If there is consensus, give me a shout and I'll get it moved.
- Shogunu, in future, please use move to change page names, instead of copy-paste, otherwise the history of other users contributions is lost. In this specific case, please discuss the proposed move on the talk page of the article first. Cheers, Chzz ► 19:38, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

- I see now on Talk:Jack_Thompson_(attorney) that this idea isn't as uncontroversial as I thought it would be - there is no clear consensus to rename the article as proposed, therefore the move shouldn't be done. If you have an alternative suggestion, you could start a new debate about it. It's a tricky one, but I do feel that the opposers have a a valid argument - if he did die, he would likely be described as a lawyer, as someone pointed out. There is no problem in having the redirect as well though. If you feel that the title unfairly portrays him, then try to think of a suitable compromise. "Jack Thompson (lawyer and activist)" ? User space[edit]
You might find it useful to create a test page in your own user area. For example, if I put here, [[user:Shogunu/my test page]] it will appear as a redlink; user:Shogunu/my test page - because that page does not exist. You can click on that and create the page; you can edit things and play around there as much as you like. To make more such pages, just add a similar link to your own user page, and then it will be easy for you to find them - e.g. user:Shogunu/test1, user:Shogunu/test2, etc.
