Attorney-generals before 1979

[edit]

Hi dear. Nice to meet you at WikiEN. About your recent edit, I think it is not correct. Because «The Attorney-General of Iran, in the Judicial system of Iran, is a "just mujtahid" appointed by the Head of the Judiciary in consultation with the judges of the Supreme Court to serve for a period of five years.[1]» It is not same as before 1979. What is your opinion? Benyamin-ln (talk) 09:11, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Benyamin, I agree with you that after the Islamic revolution, the eligibility criteria for the Attorney-general of Iran are different from the constitutional monarchy era, but the title of this office is still "Dādsetān-e Koll-e Keshvar" (like before the Islamic revolution). Attorney-General is an office which is popular in judicial systems in the world. In my opinion, the article Attorney-General of Iran should be edited and the post-revolutionary modifications in the eligibility criteria for this office should be mentioned there Shfarshid (talk) 00:45, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Grand Viziers of Persia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abbas II (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:14, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Iranian flags

[edit]

@Shfarshid why did you replace a bunch of the Iranian flags with files that don't have a properly vectorized symbol on them? It's clearly a JPG you put onto it and then proceeded to replace multiple files on numerous pages with a much lower quality version. What was the purpose of this? NorthTension (talk) 17:25, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@NorthTension: Dear NorthTension, Lion and Sun is the former emblem of Iran and the Red Lion and Sun is still an official emblem however no country uses it. There are some Iranian governmental regulations for Lion and Sun design. The one that I added an non-vertirized image is one of the most identical designs to the 1965 governmental regulation based on "Y. Ḏokāʾ, “Tārīḵča-ye taḡyīrāt o taḥawwolāt-e derafš o ʿalāmat-e dawlat-e Īrān az āḡāz-e sada-ye sīzdahom-e hejrī-e qamarī tā emrūz,” Honar o mardom, 1344 Š./1965, no. 31, pp. 13-24, nos. 32-33, pp. 21-38, no. 34, pp. 25-40, no. 35, pp. 33-37, no. 38, pp. 21-29 (essential for the Qajar period)" that is one of the sources of Encyclopedia Iranica. This design is based on an Iranian Red Lion and Sun postal stamp. The current vectorized images that you prefer have some issues: In this design the lion's mouth and nose is unrealistic and look like a pig. In this design, the sword's curve is incorrect and it looks like a boomerang. You can find the correct Persian sword picture in Shamshir article. These 2 pictures were designed by wikipedians and there is no source to support their accuracy. Shfarshid (talk) 01:12, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
so why not update the vectorized file instead of putting a fake vector on? NorthTension (talk) 01:13, 14 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As Lion and Sun was an official emblem of a sovereign state, a raster image adhering that sovereign state's regulations or at least similar to the design explained by the regulations has priority to a vectorized image which has been designed disregarding the regulations. I am trying to vectorize them but I am not professional in vectorizing raster images. I am one of the editors of the Persian article of "Flag of Iran" and tried to improve the article and its references. Shfarshid (talk) 00:11, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
