Hi,

I don't know anything about cricket, but what I do know is that linking a cricket player to a (field) hockey club doesn't make much sense.

SV Kampong is an "omnisports" club. An omnisports club is a club with departments for different sports. A more famous example is FC Barcelona with not only an international top team in football, but also in e.g. basketball and handball.

SV Kampong has departments for 7 sports among which are cricket and (field) hockey. The hockey branch is currently the most successful.

The name of the club is "SV Kampong", the name of the departments is "SV Kampong <department>", e.g. SV Kampong hockey and SV Kampong cricket.

To redirect the page SV Kampong to Kampong (field hockey club) is INCORRECT. Tbe page SV Kampong should either describe the omnisports club with subsections for the departments. The subsections could contain a link to a separate page for a department.

As it is right now, it makes no sense.

BTW, a kampong is the Malay word for a fenced house or group of houses. Bigger settlements (desa in Malay) can consist of multiple kampongs. Malay is, among other countries, spoken in Indonesia. The club Kampong, initially only football and cricket, was founded by a (fenced) suburb of the town Utrecht. In that suburb live(d) a lot of Dutch people who lived/worked in Indonesia (former Dutch colony). --02:57, 7 June 2024 (UTC) Sb008 (talk) 02:57, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
