Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because... --ShadowSonic09 (talk) 00:58, 7 May 2011 (UTC) The subject of the article has legitimacy and is published as an author. Which meets one of the specifications listed in the requirements.[reply]

There is no notability criteria that says just being a published author establishes notability. ttonyb (talk) 01:01, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What makes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Wojtanik person/article more notable than this one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowSonic09 (talkcontribs) 01:05, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also "This notability guideline for biographies is not policy; however" ShadowSonic09 (talk) 01:08, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Each article must stand on its own merits. Basically, other stuff exists. If you read the rest of the quote you provided, "...however, it reflects consensus reached through discussions and reinforced by established practice, and informs decisions on whether an article on a person should be written, merged, deleted or further developed." ttonyb (talk) 01:13, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So then how can this article be made to stand on its own merit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowSonic09 (talkcontribs) 01:28, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My establishing notability by meeting the criteria in WP:BIO, WP:CREATIVE, or WP:N using reliable sources. ttonyb (talk) 01:34, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK you're going to have to be a little bit less Wiki specific. Considering this is my first article ever and have never used Wikipedia to create articles before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowSonic09 (talkcontribs) 02:29, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but first I am going to move a copy of the article to User:ShadowSonic09/Michael Shoemaker (Author) and I will continue this conversation on you talk page. ttonyb (talk) 02:35, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see it already exists. ttonyb (talk) 02:36, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
