Your recent edits (The First Turn-On! and other pages)[edit]

Hello, I recently had reverted this edit, which you repeated today. I am not sure all links you insert in plots are necessary (air, brother, beach, leg, etc....can't we assume everyone reading those plots knows the meanings of these words?), not only on this page. If you want, maybe edit Wikipedia in Simple English if this is the sort of linking you wish? But most of all some of your content removal makes the summary not clear. "young white woman" changed for "lady", why ? Removal of "They are all still virgins", why? The next sentence is "Determined not to die as such" and does not make sense at all now. On Get Duked!, you change man for guy? Why? Guy is not correct, man was. These changes seem to be made in good faith but are not really completely positive in their results, I'm afraid. Thank you for your time. — MY, OH MY! (mushy yank)— 08:18, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I try to add variety, do my best. Setovac2 (talk) 20:20, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. But then please don't remove material that is necessary for the understanding of plots. And I must insist: I really don't think that adding a link for food or cookie is necessary in that kind of plot summaries, even though it adds a touch of blue colour in the text. The text can remain black. As I am sure you know, WP Manual of style explains that "Everyday words understood by most readers in context (e.g., education, violence, aircraft, river)" "should not be linked". Emphasis mine, link for variety's sake. You probably will see many of your edits reverted if you still do link them. Anyway, thank you for you time and reply. — MY, OH MY! Your enthusiasm for the project is welcome but your actual edits risk doing more harm than good. Despite the very fair, polite, and entirely correct comments by Mushy Yank above, you did exactly the same thing again the next day on Voyagers, and again later on Kidnapped. Apart from the pointless wikilinking of easily understood terms (planet, electricity, weapon, murder, police, lawyer, hospital etc. etc.), in the Voyagers article the phrase "pre-teens" is clear, your substitution "young boys and girls" is less so; "grown teenagers" is clear, your substitution "young folks" is not. In the Kidnapped article I appreciate that you gave a more in-depth summary of the series' plot, but you also unnecessarily removed valid content, and your informal style ("son of a wealthy guy", "not exactly people friendly", "a lot more going on") is not appropriately encyclopedic.
Please read and understand the Wikipedia Manual of Style in general, and specifically the sections on what should and should not be linked. Cheers! Captainllama (talk) 16:17, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
