Hello Moocha, Thanks for contacting me so quickly about finding errors in my article on Julian Gough (novelist). I feared I may have done something wrong as I pressed the save button, but am unsure - looking at your error report - of what exactly it is. Every information that I wrote about Julian Gough in the article is properly sourced either on his biography page or on the site of the BBC National Short Story award website. I hope I don't come across as stubborn to you. It is merely that I do not see exactly what is wrong with it. Could you please help me find out what exactly it is you require of me for the article to stay? I have read Wikipedia for several years now and only recently decided to start contributing. It would be appreciated if you could help me with a more detailed report on what went wrong.

Thanks! Selby de Brien (talk) 21:51, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Julian Gough (novelist) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi! The problem is that the sources you used can't be considered reliable source under Wikipedia's criteria. They are the author's website and a Twitter feed - both of which are explicitely mentioned as Sources that are usually not reliable in the Wikipedia:Verifiability criteria (self-published sources and social media). You should check Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for more details - there is more than enough time to do that before the article will be up for review. Hope this doesn't discourage you - keep up the good work! Moocha (talk) 22:01, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! That was nice of you. I have found a reliable source for all cited information - presseurop - and will regard the BBC National Short Story site as a reliable source of information. The linked Twitter feed of the author was meant as an additional link, not as a source of information. I hope I can leave it in as exactly that.

Again, thanks a lot. Selby de Brien (talk) 22:06, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again! No, thank *you*, for improving Wikipedia :) Have fun! Moocha (talk) 22:08, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
