Screenplay vs. Written[edit]

You are correct in the definition of "Screenplay" and Written" by credits. The problem is, not all the films are the same. So you cannot have a column for "Written by" when that isn't the case for all the films, nor one for "Screenplay by" when it isn't the case for all the films when you are making the argument about the definition. Given that having 3 columns of "Screenplay by", "Written by", and "Story by" would be overkill, it makes more logical sense to use the colloquial term "Screenplay" and a separate "Story by" credit for the films that had distinct story by credits in them. Additionally, tables should be able to be sortable, and having names that span across columns disrupts the sortability feature.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:24, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You also cannot just give a credit to someone that did not have that specific credit. You undermine your own argument on the specifics of each definition of "screenplay by" and "written by" being important to distinguish, then create a "story by" credit that did not exist because you have a qualm about a greyed out space.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:49, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
