A tag has been placed on File:Jobie Hughes.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 17:25, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Jobie Hughes.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Jobie Hughes.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:23, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of content[edit]

I noticed that you removed a huge chunk of verified and sourced content on the article for Jobie Hughes without any sort of justification or explanation for why you did so. What I changed on the article was actually fairly properly sourced and it made the article a little more streamlined and easier to process. There's no reason to include the bulk of the article in the opening paragraphs of the article, especially when it can be better summarized further down the article. I did remove the name dropping of the various actors in the movie, but then I figure that since there's now a link to the film in the overall article space for Hughes's work in the series, there's no need to namedrop. A mention of the movie and its gross is enough. I also wanted to warn you about reverting any further edits to the article, as the bio summary in the article is copyvio and can NOT remain in the article. That's the type of things that get the article deleted for violating copyright, so I'd like to avoid that since Jobie is a notable person. Even if you are Hughes himself or one of his people that got permission, we don't use copyright. (I don't think you are, mind you, but if you are then you need to be open about any potential conflict of interest.)

As far as the current content of the article, it's actually more up to date and better sourced than the previous versions. Not only did it not have all of the information about the whole Frey/Hughes thing, but it also tried to maintain that the new author for the LL was completely unknown- which isn't the case. There are reports as to who is writing the books, so that needs to be maintained.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 14:44, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
