Saytah, welcome to Wikipedia!

I'm afraid I'm going to have to start off your talk page with some requests:

  • Please don't remove the picture of the woman next to the large Qur'an page from the Qur'an article. If the museum lets women in shorts look at Qur'an pages (she's not even TOUCHING it!) and Muslims aren't picketing the museum, then a picture of her looking at the page is not wrong.
  • Please don't cut and paste material from Encyclopedia Brittanica into Wikipedia. That's a copyright violation, it's illegal, and it makes us look bad.

It's a rocky start, but you could go on to do great things. Takes a while to get the hang of the rules here. Zora 21:55, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

about the picture.

[edit]

hi zora,

First of all, I'm not against the picture , not against the museum , and no Muslim person can say that , any person has the right to wear what he likes and see what he wants and take pictures in any place he likes , and there is no problem if this women touched the quran or not ( actually any person can touch quran regardless of his believes/conditions ...etc , it is not big issue anyway ) but the issue is that , the quran is holy book in our faith , and it is not appropriate to show this picture in this topic , you can use it in other contexts related to Islam if you want , and it will do the purpose , but here i think it is not appropriate.

second thing i apology for taking from other sources , this was my first entry ( i was trying to edit ) and i have no idea before about this , so thanks for reminding me .

all the best

Why is it not appropriate? Christians are not bitching about Piss Christ or attempting to remove that photo. Jwissick(t)(c) 06:21, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why it "should" be appropriate ??!!! , if you put man wearing short also it will not be appropriate , christian faith is different topic and please don't mix topics together , Christians are free to deal with their icons , but for this case it is not appropriate , since you are talking about Quran in key topic , not subtopic , so please use this picture somewhere else , any topic related to Islam else and i will not complain.
