A tag has been placed on Letters to a Young Therapist, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ben Ben (talk) 16:25, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sadiemg

[edit]

Hello! It appears your article on the book "Letters to a Young Therapist" contains copyright violations (i.e. you copy and pasted text from another website?). That is not allowed on Wikipedia, for copyright reasons; the quickest solution to this problem is to delete the article. Also, before you start a new article, you should investigate fully the "notability" guidelines; in this case, the relevant guideline is: Wikipedia:Notability (books). There are 5 criteria listed at the top of that page, and if the book doesn't satisfy any of them, then it is at risk of being deleted.

Those are just a few things to keep in mind for the future.. happy editing! Mlm42 (talk) 16:41, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The text does meet all notability requirements 1. text received a national award, 2. author is chair of a notable medical school, 3. the text is instructional for postgraduate professionals, 4. the text has been reviewed and discussed by notable figures in the field of medial psychiatry.
As for the copyright material, these references are public statement cited from the review section of amazon.com and from the publisher's website (Atropos Press). I will reference the publisher's website to improve this issue. Thank you for your suggestions.
While those points you raise may be true, by themselves they are not enough to meet the notability requirements. Indeed, it appears that somebody else has already deleted the article. I'm not doubting that this book is good and useful.. but of the five criteria listed at the top of Wikipedia:Notability (books), I think the only one it is close to satisfying is "The book has won a major literary award." The word "major" hear is somewhat subjective, so the case would need to be made that the award it won qualifies as a "major" award.
Anyway, I think the main reason your article was deleted was because it was written more like an advertisement than an encyclopedia article (see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a soapbox or means of promotion). So hopefully you keep these things in mind for your future edits; it's always disheartening when your work is lost.. but the best way to prevent that, is to ensure your edits conform to Wikipedia's practices. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. :-) Mlm42 (talk) 18:18, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This might be a coincidence, but you seem to be editing the same articles as DrGiobbi (talk · contribs), For Madmen Only (talk · contribs), and ArnoldHarper (talk · contribs). If any of these accounts are yours, I need to ask you to please only use one account. Please see the policy Wikipedia:Sock puppetry. But thanks again for your contributions; hopefully there will be many more in the future! :-) Mlm42 (talk) 01:34, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
