I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Saddle River, New Jersey, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. I understand your concerns and agree with your notion and will make amemnds and be very careful going forward. Although the information of me accepting the award with my mayor was true but I will remove my name henceforth. But I have one question... The mention of Saddle River Inn being awarded Top 100 Romantic Restaurant in the United states by Forbes is a true fact. Does listing that a problem?

I have no vested interest whatsover with that restaurant but its a true fact and differntiates the town by its presence, Let me know what you think,

Sometimes it's less about the content and more about the way things are written -- see MOS:PUFFERY. Still, I don't believe listing that is appropriate for an article about the town that the restaurant is in. If the restaurant was notable enough for its own article (which I doubt), it might be appropriate to mention it there, but not in the town's article. :Jay8g [V•T•E] 20:41, 13 May 2024 (UTC)

Puffery and conflict of interest

As you described above, you would appear to have a conflict of interest in editing this article and need to be cautious, even in the best of circumstances, about the material that's added. Whether it's in an article for Saddle River or Haddon Heights, it's a problem when you're adding promotional material largely copied and pasted from Niche, which is not a very strong source. The details of the pedestrian bridge project are extremely minor in the scheme of an article about the borough, as are pictures about the award. Details regarding the low tax rate were kept in the article and shifted down into a section about housing. Going forward, please review policy about conflicts and understand that there is no place for MOS:PUFFERY in articles, especially where you have such a close connection. This bridge is a big news for a small town of Saddle River that costed $1.5 million and was mainly funded by the County grants and Private donations to enable about 12 acres of deadlocked and unsuable land to be merged with the parkland for the good of the town residents and doubling their park space. In addition, this covered bridge which is highly popular in New England States like Vermont is the first covered bridge in New Jersey's 100 years history. The bridge is planned to be inaaugarted by the Governor soon. Moreover while the bridge is not finished, the reputable Civil Engineering Association awarded the bridge as a Project of the year. We can head out on Route 80 to Green Sergeant's Covered Bridge in Stockton, New Jersey or head down the New Jersey Turnpike to see Scarborough Bridge in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. There are other covered bridges in the state. There are thousands of projects of this magnitude and cost across the county and state that don't merit inclusion in an encyclopedic article. And the issue of puffery and conflict of interest still haven't been addressed. Maybe a brief mention in a parks and recreation section is appropriate. I'll shift the bridge details, which don't belong in the lead section, and remove the duplicated details re property taxes, which appear later in the article. Thank you for the update, I am making the changes to the statement about first covered bridge in New Jersey for hundred years because per your information, Cherry Hill Covered bridge was made in 1959. Whereas ASCE engineers stated for 100 years there has been no covered bridge created in New Jersey!
