References for Paolo Poli

[edit]

Hi, I checked out the article, and it does have references. However, according to Wikipedia policy, the sources must be reliable. In this case, a YouTube video and a talk show are not reliable sources. The links in the External Links section might be better: I can't access the first two, but the third seems to be a fan piece from a somewhat respectable organization. While right now there's enough to avoid the article being deleted, you should really try to find more sources, especially ones from newspapers, third-party books, and so on.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to leave me a note on my talk page. Ypnypn (talk)

The article is looking good! --Tito Dutta (talk) 15:36, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Luiz Carlos Prates, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santa Catarina (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re: Port-du-Salut Abbey

[edit]

The article is okay as is, but there a few issues. In the bibliography section, are these sources for the article, or are they publications by the abbey? If the former, please provide full information (at a minimum the author) for each book. You might also want to get help from the Guild of Copy Editors. -- YPNYPN 15:57, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine, but the word "Bibliography" usually refers to cited works. (See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Layout#Works or publications). -- YPNYPN 20:24, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome! --Tito Dutta (talk) 00:28, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New articles

[edit]

Hi Rex - no problem: I'm happy to look at any other articles (as long as I'm reasonably interested in the subject matter!) Just leave me a message whenever. Wikipedia is quite difficult enough without having to fight battles with the language as well. Be aware however that I use British English. Best wishes, Jsmith1000 (talk) 01:26, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Good afternoon, Rex Momo! Be so kind as to translate this article into French. Thanks a lot. All the best for you! Viktor-viking (talk) 20:16, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Port-du-Salut Abbey - "Expand" banner

[edit]

Sorry not to reply earlier - I was otherwise occupied. The "Expand" banner indicates that there is significant extra information in the article it points to - in this case the French one - and is usually left as a pointer until the extra information has been entirely incorporated. Since there's still a lot of information in the French article that does not appear in the English one, I'd expect the banner to remain until someone has the time and inclination to do more translating on this article. The banner isn't in any sense a criticism - it merely indicates the availability of further information for a translator to bring across.Jsmith1000 (talk) 15:11, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

General points

[edit]

No problem! A couple of general points for future articles: English Wikipedia very rarely links dates or years; and punctuation marks always go BEFORE <ref> brackets. Jsmith1000 (talk) 23:56, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Religious organizations established in the 1983s, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

G6 (uncontroversial cleanup) because the title makes no sense and is clearly intended to be Category:Religious organizations established in the 1980s

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pichpich (talk) 20:27, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Convite à discussão em mwl.wikipedia

[edit]

Viva. Calorosamente vos convido! Saúde. Garsd (talk) 21:52, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pratyya (Hello!) 06:33, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rex - I've done what I can! If you can add a source for the name/location of the mountain where the friend died it would be good. I note that there is a picture of A mountain but is that the one? Best wishes, Jsmith1000 (talk) 16:43, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank youuuuuuuu!!! I put 2 new references, one that is a perfile of mr Bertagnoli. Rex Momo (talk) 17:03, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great! but could you double-check the reference to Editrice Veneta, as it doesn't seem (at the moment) to lead to any information relevant to the article? Jsmith1000 (talk) 17:47, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Carnival of Limoux

[edit]

I removed the Category:French culture. It's a common mistake to include very broad categories like that, but really try to use the most specific categories possible.

I also moved the template linking to Commons to above the external link to avoid some whitespace.

Both of these issues are really minor, and aside from them the article seems great – it just needs more information, so work on expanding it. Good luck! -- Ypnypn (talk) 15:19, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rex - I've made a few small changes. Lots of scope for expansion from the large French article. Best wishes, Jsmith1000 (talk) 13:19, 18 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article requests

[edit]

Hi! Do you do article requests for the Italian Wikipedia? There are some topics that I would like to see in the Italian Wikipedia.

Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 16:39, 15 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to translate per se, but just start a short article. So far the pages requested are:
Thanks!
(talk) 16:44, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for starting Patta! WhisperToMe (talk) 00:50, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I didn't expect that. Thank you so much! WhisperToMe (talk) 16:13, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cool :) WhisperToMe (talk) 17:04, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Which page is involved? WhisperToMe (talk) 23:19, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see. If you create a page for an existing Wikidata entry but a new Wikidata page for it appears, remove the page from the new entry, then put it in the old, then nominate the new page (now empty) for deletion. Thank you very much for your translations! WhisperToMe (talk) 03:26, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing surprises! It's cool that you know those languages! WhisperToMe (talk) 21:48, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! Debora Patta is a very interesting person and her story needs to be told! I wish I could find speakers of Zulu and/or Xhosa so her article could be written in those languages too. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:32, 23 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish too! Spanish was the language I learned in primary and secondary school. WhisperToMe (talk) 23:04, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It'll cover all the Romance languages, won't it :) WhisperToMe (talk) 10:57, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The nice thing about the Romance languages is that they are so similar to each other. So, was it that Patta was of Italian origins that made you zero in on her? WhisperToMe (talk) 03:05, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To "zero in on" something means to focus on something :) WhisperToMe (talk) 14:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for doing these! WhisperToMe (talk) 05:26, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gaelic is interesting since Ireland is trying to reintroduce it into Irish life. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:56, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How did you learn those languages, BTW? WhisperToMe (talk) 21:10, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
