White Heart album tagging

You placed nofootnotes and tooshort tags on Emergency Broadcast and Don't Wait for the Movie. However it's not clear which items need to have in-line notes or how to lengthen the articles. There's no information about the albums that is not listed in the album's liner notes. What sort of additional information would you like added? Please respond on the talk pages for the albums. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 13:47, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

I asked you to respond on the article pages. Dropping comments on my talk page will not do any good for other authors since they won't look there. Technicalities aside this is a stupid rule. I know you didn't create it, but when I hold an album in my hand, I can cite every fact from it from the song titles, which must be changed to match Wikipedia's title case format rules, through to the musicians on the album. So technically, what fact would you like cited. It would look stupid to cite each and every song, and I don't see any album articles that do that. It would look stupid to cite each and every performer, and I don't see any album articles that do that either. So are you asking for the lede to be cited? Are you asking for the title to be cited? You placed the tag, you tell us specifically what needs to be cited or it will be gone. I fully understand the need to expand the article, but stub would have been better tag to add. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:47, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Also those tags should not be marked as minor. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:52, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
So what happens to someone who indiscriminately places tags on articles. What sort of warning should be placed on their talk pages. That's a bigger problem than removing tags that are placed without any explanation of how to fulfil the request to remove the tag. I understand it's short. That's not the issue. The issue is the tags regarding requiring in-line citations. What exactly do you want in-line citations on? I have removed many tags after they're placed with no explanation and I have yet to be sanctioned. Explain where and how you want the in-line citations, or I will have to remove those tags. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:52, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Let's start this again.

  • I do not doubt that the articles are short. They are short and a stub tag would have been appropriate, but I accept that they're short.
  • I have a problem with the other tag. Would you mind going back to the articles and explain what needs additional citations?
  • And as per your first point above, "If you message me here, I will respond on your talk page unless you request otherwise. I believe this makes things a lot easier for a person to know when they've received a response to their inquiry". I requested that you carry on the discussion on the talk pages for the albums, but you still come back to my talk page every time.
  • As for assuming good faith, perhaps you could do the same: I want to improve the articles you've tagged 'but honestly have no idea what part of the article needs additional citations so your help would be appreciated in fixing this mess that you've created. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:03, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Never mind. I added a citation to the only possible section of the articles that could possibly need one and I have removed the offending tag. Feel free to add it back in if you feel the need. I'm sorry to have have bothered you. I have one request: please explain yourself more fully in the future when tagging since most editors that I've dealt with can't read minds. That's all I was asking of from you and instead, you expended more energy attacking arguing with me for requesting clarification. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
Posting this here since you're reverting anything on your page. I do think you owe me an apology. You were told multiple times why the tag was placed. You accused me of attacking you, which you have now subtly attempted to change. You insisted I should tell you exactly where citations should be placed when I told you multiple times I am not familiar with the album nor the references enough to be able to reasonably be expected to do such. New page patrollers point out problems. They do not always have solutions and so they tag articles so those who know more about the problem can fix it. You have been around long enough to know better. Redfarmer (talk) 03:29, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
