Marcus Turner talk page

Hi Redfarmer. Is it okay with you if I remove the wrangle we had on the Marcus Turner talk page? I said at the time that I would do this, subject to your approval. I'm frankly embarrassed by it now. The article itself has been expanded, mostly by someone else. No one else has commented on the talk page, apart from a couple of rating notices, and I don't think removal would create any problems. Image copyright problem with File:TBJ Cast.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:TBJ Cast.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 00:01, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Last of the Summer Wine Illustrations

Your recent activity on Last of the Summer Wine page reminded me of a point I intended to raise with you some time ago.

Way back you replaced the photograph of the around 2004 quartet (Truly, Clegg. Billy and Alvin) with the photograph of the "current" three. It is interesting to ponder just how long they will be "Current". I do concur that the latter photograph should have been incorporated. However, why remove the one of the quartet which it replaced? It strikes me that these TWO photographs coupled with the "most famous trio" provides excellent representation across the years. I would try reintroducing the quartet photograph myself but I just do not have the technical expertise.

There seems to have been reluctance (understandable) to move Kathy Staff away from the current cast list. It is my understanding from various articles published at the time of her sad death that she was too unwell to take part in the latest series to be aired later this year. In other words she is sadly now a previous cast member.

When I can get around to it I will come back to you with further thoughts particularly on the subject of consistency across the various LOSW pages. Frankmoyes (talk) 14:56, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Question About Improper Use of Copyrighted Material

Hi. I noticed that you added a flag about improper use of copyrighted material on the List of Mission: Impossible characters page. Could you give me some context on the tag and why it is there? I am stunned...most of the work on that page stuff I've put in, and I'm at a loss at what might be copyrighted material there. My best guess is that maybe you're flagging the pictures, but I'm pretty sure they are fair use, as I did the screen captures myself.

I look forward to hearing back from you on my user page. Thanks. --BillFromDDTDigest (talk) 08:29, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

About the CSI Pages.

Hello Redfarmer. I read with interest the debate about changes made by anon ips to Riley Adams rank on CSI, and see the same problem happening with anon ips changing CSI:New York's Lindsay Monroe to "Lindsay Messer" and putting in much soap-opera like speculation about the baby, when it will be born, etc. And also the CSI: Miami page is getting quite a bit of what I call "wiki-fiction" in the section about Eric Delko's father and the Cuban connection. I fix these whenever I find them. I personally think everyone editing on Wikipedia should be required to have a username, as it does seem to cut down the vandals and new users can be helped to do things correctly (I do edit with my ip sometimes, but if it cut down on the trash - I would not mind alway having to log in). Anyway, my point is all the CSI pages have been taken over to a degree by the anon ips who want to put fan fiction or just uncited info up. Perhaps semi-protection - editing not allowed by new or anon users - for all the CSI pages for the term of 2 to 4 weeks would cut down on this and help those of us who want Wikipedia to be a reliable resource. Right now, too many the entries belong on a My Space or fan fiction site. I've been told I'm a big meanie and I'm much too harsh about the anons who repeatedly make crap edits (not quite vandalism level). But I don't care about that, I just want Wiki to be better and I'm so tired of the garbage that I want to give up on it altogther. But will try to stick it out hoping for something to change. Thanks for your time and listening to me vent. I'll watch both this page and my own talk page for your thoughts. Bloo (talk) 04:25, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Your post re: CSI

Redfarmer, hello... a favour, if you please. I'd appreciate it if you would amend your post to say "another editor" rather than "an admin". While I am certainly an administrator, our difference of opinion doesn't involve any sort of administrative action, and I would not wish to see the debate characterized as such. Anyway, I'll leave it up to your discretion. Thanks for considering this. --Ckatzchatspy 09:15, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:CSI NY Cast Season 1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:CSI NY Cast Season 1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
