Admin nom

Hi. Your RfA page has been prepared. Take your time answering the questions, and try to make your answers as thorough as possible. Once to questions have been answered and your have formally accepted the nomination, the RfA can begin. Remember to admit to any major conflicts you may have had, and that canvassing for support will be frowned upon. Good luck. Epbr123 (talk) 11:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

It's best not to get involved in long discussions with opposers on the RfA page as it attracts more attention to their oppose comments. Neither contributers so far have raised any serious concerns. Epbr123 (talk) 13:22, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
You're performance has been very good so far. Keep it up and you'll be able to recover from your unlucky start. You've done well to remain calm considering the circumstances. Epbr123 (talk) 00:08, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

JSTOR

Is there any way for me to get access to JSTOR without going back for my graduate degree? Or do you know? KV(Talk) 01:59, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

George Bush article

Excuse me, but why are you requesting that the George Bush article be deleted? Unknown User (talk) 09:40, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Look at today's date ;-) I feel like a killjoy for closing that discussion! --Nick Dowling (talk) 09:44, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Dang..... I should have guessed.... Lol. Unknown User (talk) 06:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Bratislava

Hi there. I've decided to continue discussion from WP:SVK here. This is only my quick list what should be uploaded: Slovnaft refinery (no photo), Slovak National Museum (close-up missing), Bratislava Airport (more ground photos needed), maybe this synagogue (Polish), Slovak National Gallery, the seat of Slovak Philharmonic called Reduta, for sure fortifications (careful, some parts are closed) and Bratislava Zoo (only one photo). Of course, anything good is welcome as well, but these mentioned could use better coverage. If something isn't clear let me know asap (next 16-24 hours), because I won't have many chances to respond from there on. Maybe Google maps can help you (or maybe not). Thank you from Corrections

Just read your message on my talk page. I don't check it enough as I am still finding my way with all this. But honestly it made my day. Was the first kind word I've gotten from somebody since I started. So Thank you. Your feedback has been great and I am working at getting the independent sources we need. Have a great month! Questions on Hogwarts Extreme

Why did you request that the Hogwarts Extreme site be deleted? I don't really see how it is a harmful site. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daturtlerocks (talkcontribs) 23:09, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Why was Hogwarts Extreme deleted? It is in no way a harmful site. I am just trying to educate people about an awesome Harry Potter site.

~~Daturtlerocks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daturtlerocks (talkcontribs) 23:16, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Why was it deleted in the beginning? I don't understand why it would be deleted if we were going to edit it to make it even better. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daturtlerocks (talkcontribs) 23:20, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand w hy that's enough reason for the article to be deleted. I mean, I along with others were in the process of editing it. I was talking to other people about the Wikipage on Hex.

Maybe I'm just insane, but I really don't think that's reason to delete our Wikipage.

--Daturtlerocks (talk) 13:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Hello!

I see you put up the redirect for discussion because, clearly, it's innapropriate. I don't want to remove your tag you placed in the article so I wanted to ask you what you think about nominating it for speedy deletion under WP:CSD#R3? The page's creator is Luke's Mall (talk · contribs) who appeared on the wiki-radar yesterday without a single positive contribution so far. Basically, I think the page was created as a joke and it can be speedied without discussion. What do you think? SWik78 (talk) 17:14, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Notable, referenced enough? It's a article about a future product, there's really isn't much info about it yet. But there's absolutely no question about this product's significance. -- Henriok (talk) 14:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

I Quote from WP:CRYSTAL:
  • "Wikipedia is not a collection of unverifiable speculation."

Check.. its verified with souces from the poducer both in history (from 2004) and currently (in late 2007), so it's very much aliving topic. The articles includes no no speculation and no original research.

  • "It is appropriate to report discussion and arguments about the prospects for success of future proposals and projects or whether some development will occur, provided that discussion is properly referenced." Check.. New info has been brought forward which details technical stuff as well as a time frame, and it is all referenced.
Notability should be established by three independent sources and the article/products place in the genre of similar articles (Power Architecture andMotorola/Freescale processors) as indeicated by the two templates. Inter-Wikipedia references to e700 have existed for several years, and it's now that I decided to break our the article so it fits better with alll related articles and to reflect newfoud data. It was previously a very small subsection of PowerPC G4 in which it hardly fits anymore. -- Henriok (talk) 16:31, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Informal Social Control

Hello Redfarmer I noticed that you declined to create the article Informal Social Control at AFC because of neologisms. In a search for references on Google Scholar, as shown here [1], I believe the phrase is an accepted part of the American Psychology Association definition. In that it is an accepted phrase, and there does seem to be a ton of reference material, I would like to create the article, and of course giving credit to the individual that proposed the piece. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. ShoesssS Talk 17:41, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I will also expand on the aricle over the next couple of weeks. Appreciate you re-looking at the matter :-). ShoesssS Talk 18:04, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hello Redfarmer, I'm sorry to have to tell you that I've closed your RfA as unsuccessful with the community failing to reach a consensus on your promotion. For what it's worth, you did have more support than opposition, and the opposers seem to focus on one or two issues at AFD and MFD so, should you wish to run again in the future, can I suggest you focus some of your effort there in building a reputation for good solid reasoning and understanding of the policies? Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to discuss this further, all the best. The Rambling Man (talk) 12:04, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Hi Redfarmer, don't worry too much about the result; RfAs can be a bit of a lottery sometimes. I'd be honoured to nominate you again in a few months, giving you time to perfect your AfD/CSD skills. I hope you didn't find the experience too traumatic. Epbr123 (talk) 12:49, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi RedFarmer. I don't know you from adam but did want to express my disappointment with the reasons given for opposing you. In particular, the userbox. All I can say is that adminship is probably less important than being true to yourself so don't take it to heart! As Polonius said to Laertes "This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man." You were not false, and that is always the most important thing. I hope I get another chance to support your admin request soon. --RegentsPark (talk) 13:04, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Next time you'll still have my strong support. Tan | 39 14:46, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

AfD: George W. Bush

Sorry for being late to the party on this, but your line in your AFJ about the deletion debate for George W. Bush was friggin' hilarious! "More of a comedian than anything..." Classic! Cheers! --InDeBiz1 (talk) 00:54, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thoughts on future events articles? I'm at 3RR here, so I cannot continue to revert. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:19, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't realise A1 apply. Sorry for causing trouble. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Willotter (talkcontribs) 17:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Failed RfA

Sorry to see you got a fail despite significantly more supports than opposes. Please let me know if you're up again. KV(Talk) 17:48, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi there. With regard to this article, it has already been subject to a deletion discussion, so I've gone and re-tagged it. All the best, Steve TC 18:33, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

St Martin's Windmill

Would you please move this page back to its original title. The reason I created it with the place is that there are other windmills in other places that have borne the name "St. Martin's Windmill". There were two windmills in Canterbury with that name, one was distinguished from the other by its colour. Names like "Black Mill", "White Mill", "New Mill", "Old Mill", "Great Mill", "Little Mill", "Upper Mill", "Lower Mill" are very common, hence the location in the title. Mjroots (talk) 12:04, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd still prefer to have it moved back to it's original location for the reasons stated. I'm trying to start a Mills WikiProject, and I hope to gain consensus that mill articles will be in the format of [Mill name, location] if the mill bears a name. I agree about disambiguation pages, and am quite prepared to create these as necessary. Mjroots (talk) 12:24, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
I've posed the question on WT:NC. Mjroots (talk) 12:47, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Sviatoslav Richter

I think you've got the wrong guy. Steiner_redlich, an admitted sockpuppet of FrancoRussie, is the one who has been disruptive. Please review the page's history, and their history of edits. THD3 (talk) 22:08, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Noticed you deprodded the article. Just a request. Please have some comment in the talk page of the article if it meets WP:WEB or not. The article is subject to various tagging and deletion. I am confused. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 10:33, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lotsw.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Lotsw.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:30, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
