Introduction

In case you couldn't tell from the title, this is my user talk page. Say something here if you want to get my attention. Redphoenix526 (talk) 04:10, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey man. I can tell from your userpage that we share some interests. Maybe you should check mine out, see if there are any userboxes you'd like to add to your collection, and aquaint yourself with your mutual ally on restoring the Crush 40 article. (Man, you're an awesome Wikipedian! We have a lot in common, you know how to edit an article unlike some bozos I've seen, and you're in it to SAVE articles, not complain about them. Sweet. You should so make contributions to the OTHER Sonic articles!) See:User:Radman622

WP:SEGA

I'm working on condecing the many articles of WP:SEGA into a few solid pages, I am afriad that Gaogier was partly blocked because of his actions towards myself, I'm not sure what happened, but I had asked for admin to step in on a matter between us, and unfortunatly he's been blocked, which really wasn't what I though would happen as I really don't want anything to effect the work on the Sega Project (and it was Gaogier who started it), I believe the sega project is a very good idea, and can help improve all articles with relation to Sega!
I think you are personally the Sega Projects one man Assessment Department, I'm hoping that as we grow they'll be a lot of help with assessments, but I'm amazed at the speed you have been running it at on your own!
The style that I'm using at them moment is just a place holder, I feel bad for undoing all of Gaogier's work, but as I've said, it was really confusing and templates made of templates were just making it harder to fix.
I was going to leave the old style in place while I worked on a new header, but the way the old one was set up was making it hard to figure out what was needed and what went where.
I am working on a new header, but I'm also trying to sort out any little problem on the rest of the articles pages, I will show you the first draft of the header and any imput will be greatly recived, but again I'm just thinking of something in style with the Sega logo (clean, blue and white), is there any feature/articles that you think really need to be a part of the header?  Doktor  Wilhelm  18:34, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

New layout for the main page, I stole it from Wikipedia:WikiProject Square Enix. I'll work on the colours, but it looks nice (for now?).  Doktor  Wilhelm  20:32, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you for the award!  Doktor  Wilhelm  05:10, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Just wanted 2 let u know, I play Runescape 2. My username on that is identical to mine on this, Radman622. Just saying tho, if ur like a lvl 75, then u'll spend a bit of time laughing and saying "The Wikipedian I know is a lvl 36 noob!" k? User:Radman622 17:34, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Virtua Fighter assessment

TY mate for the assessment. Least I know I'm going somewhere. Problem with the characters portion is that I listed only the differences from the video games and the anime. Though if you would insist that the characters page should be reduced or changed, feel free to do so. Ominae (talk) 01:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Breath of Fire assessment

Thanks for your quick response to my assessment request (maybe too quick...I think I put my request at the top of the waiting list by mistake :/ ). I took most of your suggestions and edited out about 1/5 of the article.

I have a question, though. Final Fantasy VI has a "References to pop culture" section that notes a Star Wars reference in the game. Breath of Fire has a cameo of Chun-Li practicing her lightning kick, a portrait of Arthur from Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and a George Romero reference. Do you think these is worth including since it references other games by Capcom, or if it will just lower the rating? Johnnyfog 22:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I think you could pull it off and improve the article's quality with it, but only if you cite it with some reliable sources. Also, if you can find more sources for areas where you've just got a bunch of text without sources (i.e. the middle of paragraphs or paragraphs with no citations), that would improve the article's quality. You can even recite your sources even more times to do it. I think with a little more work, you've got an article which could pass the GA nomination. The sourcing is your biggest issue since you've fixed the other issues. Redphoenix526 (Talk) 22:55, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl GA Re-assessment

"Brawl sold over 1.4 million units in Japan and North America" was revised some time ago, so that's one problem fixed. Also, that image of the main menu had its fair-use rationale cleared by a vandal[1], probably around the time you checked it. Its fixed now. Thanks, --haha169 (talk) 01:57, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Regarding the page Triforce (arcade system board), which you tagged for speedy deletion on the basis of it is a talk page of a page that does not exist, I wanted you to know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This page does not qualify for speedy deletion because this is not the case. If you still want the page to be deleted, please use the WP:AFD process. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 20:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

I removed a bunch of similar tags also. When an article has been redirected, the article still technically exists, and the G8 criterion doesn't apply. I must contradict Stifle, though -- if you want to see a talk page deleted the proper venue is WP:MFD. Mangojuicetalk 01:16, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Regarding the speedy deletion of the Triforce (arcade system board) talk page

Excuse me, what do you see in that talk page? I don't know if you've noticed or not, but the page is now a redirect to another article and the only things on that talk page are project tags which don't need to exist anymore now that the page is a redirect. In which case, removing these tags leaves a blank page. I recommend you reconsider the speedy deletion of that talk page. Red Phoenix (Talk) 22:57, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

OK, it's deleted now. The reason you gave was that it was a talk page of a nonexistent page, which wasn't the case (all I saw was a blue link to the content page). In future, consider using {{db|talk page of a redirect with no relevant discussion}} Stifle (talk) 13:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
As you wish. Red Phoenix (Talk) 19:30, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Crush 40 Band 1.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Crush 40 Band 1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. wL<speak·check> 19:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I need some help with this issue above. At the time I uploaded this, I wasn't sure if it was free or fair use, but since the photograph looked a little more professional, I put it under fair use. Now, I understand that it should be deleted. At the time, the band's MySpace page also was down, but now it is up, and there are a couple pictures of the band there that I believe might be free. Would they be? I really would like to have any image up of them at all, but I will comply with fair use. Red Phoenix (Talk) 20:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Unless the band manager is crazy, they are not free. Southern Illinois SKYWARN (talk) 22:01, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
They're hardly managed, though. The images that I have in mind aren't in any media except for MySpace, and these guys don't perform live. It's a project band, so I doubt they have a manager. Red Phoenix (Talk) 22:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Well still, they probably are not fair use, and are probably copyrighted in a million ways. Southern Illinois SKYWARN (talk) 22:11, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, this is why I asked for help. It's going to be even harder then to find a free picture since there's virtually no chance anyone has taken one. Red Phoenix (Talk) 22:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deleting image

Hey there! If you have removed the last link of an image, the image cannot be deleted through speedy criteria. You need to use {{orfud}} or {{or-fu-re}} instead. Cheers! -- ReyBrujo (talk) 03:46, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I guess I didn't read the image deletion instructions right. Thanks for the pointer, I'll get to relabeling that right away. Red Phoenix (Talk) 03:47, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Crush 40 Band 1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Crush 40 Band 1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:24, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Mega Drive

Sorry about not getting back to you on this. I had planned to go through the article today, but events in the real world totally ruined that plan. Reading the discussion page Noj r is going to go for a fail now anyway, and to be honest I agree with him/her. I'd been searching for refs to replace the dodgy looking ones but just couldn't find any that were on the likes of Gamespot or Cnet etc that carry a bit of weight as being reliable sources. The Mega Drive is in a very awkward position: appearing at the same time as the Internet was building up a head of steam but before the publishing industry launched their publications online, hence a lot of the reliable stuff for the Mega Drive is in magazines. At least the article has improved one hell of a lot, especially with the much needed pruning that you've done over the last week. Its a good article, its just the sources that need bullet-proofing. - X201 (talk) 18:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I was fully aware of the dead links. Turns out that the Kansas City Star website posts their stories for a little while, but if you try and access the link later, it's just a dead link. I'll at least put in some embedded tables, and clean it up some more. I also knew about the game summaries and how sloppy they are. I was hoping to get around to working on them, but I was sidetracked. I'll at least clean it up and submit the article again for nomination in the future. Thanks a lot for the review. I greatly appreciate it. conman33 (. . .talk) 05:41, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome for the review, I'll look at it again if it comes up, if you would like. Red Phoenix (Talk) 13:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

re:Black Tide

Hey, thanks for the tip. I withdrew my nom and posted it for GAR. Thanks again, Burningclean [speak] 01:44, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the review. Are you sure you want a music style section? Those aren't required for band GAs. Sure it my help, but... (Style sections are what I dislike most about writing. I have so far only put them in my FAs. The lead kinda suck too :P) Burningclean [speak] 03:38, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, you mentioned copy-editing. That is something else I am not so hot at (well aren't I a whiner ;p) I speak english and live (and was born) in America; however, I can't seem to get a grasp on how you guys format your word structures, it really stumps me. It has been copy-edited by someone before, but if you wouldn't mind going through again, that would be cool. If you don't that is just as fine. Oh, and thanks for not making me get an image. Thanks again, Burningclean [speak] 03:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Alright, cool. I'll get on that sometime this week. (hopefully. I'm busy lately :( )Burningclean [speak] 04:20, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
If I don't get to it within those few days, you can fail it. I have been quite busy. Did they put on a good show? To be honest, I have only heard two songs from them. Burningclean [speak] 21:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I can't say I blame you for booing Lordi off. They are GWAR rippoffs if you ask me. I'm going to see Gigantour on May 7. Burningclean [speak] 22:07, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Cool, thanks. I got it sourced. If you really feel it needs that section, I can make it. I don't plan to bring this further than GA though. Thanks again, Burningclean [speak] 02:28, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
I'll probably get a bug in me to finish it soon. Thanks, Burningclean [speak] 02:51, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Your Block Case

Hey Gaogier. I've decided that I'm going to try and help you get unblocked. As you said yourself, you say that you feel like 'a bandit' around here, and you sound like you're sorry for what happened in the first place. Anyway, let's start by going over the situation. (lol I'm going to set this up like one of my assessments).

According to your block log, you were blocked for this reason by VirtualSteve:

  • (Abusing sock puppet accounts: Please see block notice for evidence links that this editor is usurping other accounts; maliciously redirecting FA redirects; and removing user page content using other sock IPs)

Okay, well, first off, we'll address the sock puppet issue. Starting with the IP's, obviously you forgot to log in. It's not unusual for someone to have multiple IP's, I have one that's 149. something here at college and one that's 72. something at my home in Fort Wayne. It might be helpful, though, if you can catch yourself after you sign it under an IP address, and just mention that that person is you. It's a good idea to manually sign all your posts. Just tell the admin that you're sorry about that.

As for the usurping other accounts, this is probably the most damaging bit. What did you do? I remember reading something about you and Chicken7. I really can't help you with this one since I don't know what happened.

As for your dispute with Doktor Wilhelm that led up to the block, you can use some of his comments that he left me here. You also apologized to that the first time, I saw, and you did recognize what you did wrong. You might also help your case by telling the admin that you now recognize that a situation like this is something to take to dispute resolution.

For the FA redirects, well, I saw the General Sherman redirect, and yeah, you probably shouldn't have done that one. But let's be realistic here, is it really that malicious? Granted, it's not exactly a good redirect, but it's not like you redirected something absolutely ridiculous. Tell the admin you made a misjudgment, and a tip for the future: people are sensitive about redirecting away from an FA since FA's are supposed to be Wikipedia's best articles.

Anyway, basically you're going to really have to apologize to the admin, tell them you know what you did was wrong (for all four cases, don't try to defend yourself unless you didn't do one of them), and show them you know what the right thing to do is. That's the best I can give you for now, feel free to send me something on my talk page if you've got comments. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 18:30, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Sadly this is what i have sent is so far to wikipedia replies may be included:

In order for us to help you out, we'll need a little more information. This includes

- your Wikipedia account name, if you have one, - your IP address, - your blocking administrator, and - the reason you were blocked.

The above should be available to you when you try to edit a page and load the 'you have been blocked' page. I suggest you copy-paste this (to avoid spelling errors) along with an explanation of why you think your block is unfair, and resend it to [email protected]. Hopefully someone will then be able to assist you.

Re: Helping you out

Okay, well, it certainly doesn't look good. I'm not going to give up on you, though, Gaogier. I'm going to try and give you as much help as possible.

First off, I guess you need to understand WP:OWN, as the admin said. As much as you think WP:SEGA and the articles you wrote are your projects and articles, technically they aren't because of the GFDL, and you can't take possession of "your stuff". I know how you can feel about some articles, I feel that way about Crush 40, since it was my first article and I saved it from AfD (now it's a GA nominee lol). What you need to do is prove to the admin that you're worthy of keeping, but that nothing here is "yours", even if you created it. By the way, it's only one project now (sorry, but I MfD'd WikiProject Random and WikiProject Microsoft, the only member of the Microsoft Project said that I might as well delete it, and the people who reviewed the Random project thought it was your personal fancruft). It took me a little while to understand that concept, too.

By the way, if you didn't catch it, I am User:Red Phoenix instead of User:Redphoenix526. If you want to see why, click here. Basically, I usurped an account that had no GFDL edits through a legitimate process. You can use me as a reference for some of the works you've done and can continue to do, because The Sega Project wouldn't be anything without you, and we're 32 members strong now (though just Fairfieldfencer and I are active members lol).

Still, given how inactive The Sega Project is, yes, you kind of did run the project. We don't have many active members, and you've always been a positive contributor (beyond the image fair use issue before I even joined the project).

As for the sockpuppetry, probably the most damming thing is you redirecting User:Chicken7 to your page. Out of curiosity, what was the point in that? Kind of seems like a pointless and dumb act to me. That makes Chicken7 a sockpuppet of you, even if that wasn't the intent and he was retired. Obviously you can apologize for the not logging in with the IP issue, and as I said, you can mention what I told you to do if you realize you're not logged in: just log in and sign your name below it.

Speaking of IP's, is one of your houses on a dialup connection? That would be why you've got a lot of IP's: whenever you log on with a dialup connection, the computer doesn't have a fixed IP: you're assigned a different one each time you log on with the same first couple of digits identifying your region.

You might want to note you're indefinitely blocked, not banned. Yep, there's a difference, though it's not much of one.

Other than that, I guess I've said everything on your talk page that you need to do... best of luck, and if the admin needs a reference, I would be very willing to help. You might not believe this, but since the first day you were blocked, I was studying your case and all of the accusations. I think that makes me kind of an "expert" on your situation lol. Anyway, best of luck, and if you get all your wikipedia communication cut, you can always contact me at my email on my user page. Never thought it was mine just thought it was my contribution to making a better wikipedia... obviously its not mine :P, i was just showing them what i contributed and that they probably wouldn't be there is it wasn't for me. TemporaryGaogier (talk) 11:55, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Also i am DSL through a router and i occasionally turn my router off for a while when i'm away probably changing the ip? Most of the ips shown that i have used as sock puppets start exactly the same.

sadly the works of User_talk:81.102.229.103 was someone else in my house and they were on their PC laptop so i thought an admin would deal with them not knowing my ip would suffer for what he did, thats the worst thing on my record i think.

And the chicken thing, i was talking to him on msn and he told me his account name and for no reason i actually did that i was kind of a bandit in that situation but i can get chickens pass off him (because he'll give me it) and maybe that will give me a chance of making that seem somehow sensible?

you have all the info you need i guess will you make something for me to send in?, i have less luck doing it myself than a man climbing a mountain with his chin. Or someone writing a wikipedia article with their fists, dont think they would last long lol. TemporaryGaogier (talk) 12:35, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Re:

Ah, your reply explained a little more we can use. I think the way you're talking to the admin, you're not exactly making things clear. As I said, I think the admin's under the impression that you think you own these articles and projects. You need to make it clear to the admin that that's a misunderstanding. You also need to show how you can still be a helpful person to Wikipedia. Talk about the good faith edits you have made and how you plan to expand on them. For example, you could show them The Sega Project. Or you could show them some before and after bits of how you've built an article.

Show the admin that you know now what the right thing to do is in situations like the one you were in with User:Doktor Wilhelm (for note to the admin, there is a space). Explain the IP situation and the bad faith edit of someone else, and explain how that one is not a sock puppet. Explain how you know what to do now if you realize that you're not signed in.

As for Chicken7, um, yeah, that was a dumb thing to do. His page is protected now because you redirected it to your page. Technically, you're not supposed to use Chicken7's account information. That's called usurping his account, whether he let you do it or not. Apologize to the admin and tell the person you realize that was the wrong thing to do.

I guess this sounds a bit awkward, but you need to show the admin that you're still useful to Wikipedia and you won't repeat your mistakes. Good luck, and if you need me to write you a message, I can try (I think I'd get pointed out for that, though, I write in American English and I am a bit of a stickler for capitals and punctuation when I type lol). Tiësto GA on Hold

You put the article on hold and i feel that the issues that you have wanted resolved before you pass the article are now corrected. Thanks. Alexander Vince (talk) 18:24, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Why I removed the template

The reason I removed the Sega template is because Sega has very little involvement with SSBB. It would like adding Legend of Zelda and Pokémon template, even though it has very little to do with either them minus the characters and stages. Also, it puzzle me as to why WP:SEGA would give an assessment rating when mentions of Sonic is little. Magiciandude (talk) 04:05, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Kent's book

If the information on your userpage is accurate (specifically, the part about attending Indiana University in Bloomington) and the information in IUCAT is correct, they have a copy in the Herman B Wells Library that is due on the 28th, and possibly a second copy in the "Core Collection" (which to me implies that it is non-checkoutable). X Japan GA review

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I have been working on the X Japan article, in order to address the issues you listed in your review. Could you have a look and tell me what remains to be done? A note on the jrockrevolution.com-based citations: That source has been subject of debate earlier, given its affiliation with the band/its management, which makes it inherently biased and sure enough, the prose on that site is nothing short of euphoric at times. Hence I have been trying to use it strictly as a first-party source, leaving anything in regard of notability, impact and success of the band to third-party sources. I hope article reflects these aspirations.

Also, the sound samples have been taken down for the time being. Finding sources for a style section might not be impossible, but given the band's origin, it could be trickier than with others, so I'd rather leave that for later and then re-upload the samples if need be. Another editor also suggested to work the samples into the History section – what's you opinion on that? – Cyrus XIII (talk) 22:45, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, since Crush 40 might be even less known that X Japan, a style section for the latter should also be feasible. And the article probably needs it anyway, if it is ever to get to FA level someday. In other news, I've added collapsible track lists and smaller cover images to the Crush 40 article, as I have come to find a space-saving approach to be rather useful when embedding multiple album track lists and infoboxes in a longer article. But feel free to revert (or remove the "collapsed" option from the templates) if you disagree. – Cyrus XIII (talk) 11:31, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, those two single-disc track lists probably don't really blow up the article all that much (four-disc RPG scores, now that would be a different story) and with the "collapsed = yes" line removed, you still get a nicer list formatting. I left a message at Talk:X Japan; hopefully, Wednesday isn't asking too much. I might just get around to writing that section tonight, but I'll be busy with off-Wiki stuff tomorrow and Monday. – Cyrus XIII (talk) 15:23, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Just added the other sampled song as an examples for the group's heavier tracks (among others). Looking forward to that GA pass and if you have some pointers for what needs to be done for FA status, please mention them on the talk page. – Cyrus XIII (talk) 23:36, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Chaos Emeralds

Judging from TTN's discussion with you, I figure I could help out with sources. Alright, the concept of the Chaos Emeralds and Super Transformation in general was inspired by East-Asian culture, specifically the Dragon Ball Z series. 7 Chaos Emeralds=Dragon Balls, and Super Transformation is Sega's nod to the Super Saiyan transformation in the same series. Hope that's enough for Chaos Emeralds and Super Transformation. – ZeroGiga (Contact) 14:38, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Mega Drive FA

I've spent the last couple of weeks going through loads of magazines looking for dates and figures for the article. I'm sure I've got a full article on the history of the console somewhere. All the dates and figures will need to be cited for the FA and the country sections might need a touch up. I've found some info on the European marketing campaign, and have more in other magazines. It's a subject that I think needs expanding in the article. As for FA I'm sure there will be someone on the VG project who would peer review it as if they were reading it as an FA to point out what might need tightening up. - X201 (talk) 15:56, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't know where to start apologizing?? uhh I really don't know where to start... Gaogier 21:45, 21 May 2008

Gaogier, just tell VirtualSteve that you're sorry for the stuff with Doktor Wilhelm, the "sockpuppetry", and "usurping Chicken7's account". Make sure to mention that you know it was wrong to do these things and tell Steve that you plan to be a good contributor to the encyclopedia if you are unblocked (don't tell him you will be, because that can be seen as being cocky. Just say "if", and be nice to Steve. Hope that helps, and if Steve has any more questions for you, just answer honestly and be nice. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 20:51, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

I would love to be unbanned but i don't know what it would mean to me anymore everything i ever had , all my pages and wikiprojects i was working on except for sega are gone, i would apologize to him because i know right and wrong more than i did then and i could come back contributing at my max but i'm just thinking i could come back and just retire and end my wikipedia span, the strongest prevail not he weakest and i am the weakest my chances of being unbanned may be higher but my determination of being unbanned is much lower to a point of almost giving up, i don't think i can go though with trying to apologize even if i mean every word of it, i am really sorry :(, thank you for trying but my wikiheart full of wikilove is broken and i probably won't start to mend its self for a year or so, i don't know :( :( im just hurt by wikipedia doing this to me... all i ever wanted to do was contribute to make a better wikipedia :(.... this is life and this is why i am upset, and don't misread that im unhappy about wikipedia doing that to me as that i am not sorry because i'm sorry i'm just upset as it says above. - Gaogier

You didn't appreciate the award i see :( - Gaogier

Oh btw i'm *not* sorry for the sock puppetry because they are my ips and not sock puppets, i am sorry for what i have done on my ips/account but i'm not sorry for the fact i have ips, if i could have no ip i would... - Gaogier

It wouldn't take that much to remake your projects, Gaogier. It's my fault they're gone, I MfD'd them after you left, because you left on such fiery terms with Doktor Wilhelm and I doubted you'd ever be back. You're here now, so why shouldn't you stay? You don't have to contribute to your max, I'll help you get back up. It is true the strongest prevail, but I've never really thought of you as the weakest when it comes to Wikipedia, Gaogier. You're one of the strong ones, but you've been knocked over. In either case, you should apologize and try to come back, even if it's only to retire. Would you rather leave Wikipedia as an accomplished user or a sockpuppeteer on an indefinite block? If you need my help with writing something to apologize, I'll write it for you and have you rubber stamp it and send it to VirtualSteve. You can still make a better Wikipedia, you've just hit a snag. We all live and learn. You have every right to be unhappy about getting blocked, I can understand that. But you can be sorry for the things you did, and that's all you need to apologize for. This is why I helped you with this appeal: I'm certain that if you apologize to VirtualSteve and you explain whatever he wants to know, you will be unblocked. The choice is yours, but I'll help you as far as I can. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
By the way, I really do appreciate the award, thanks. I'm sorry I forgot to say something, I'm doing about ten things at once right now.Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

As for the IP's, just explain it to Steve. You don't have to apologize, just make it clear to Steve what happened there. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

I can definitely do that for you, Gaogier. However, I'm not going to do it until VirtualSteve approves. He sees my talk page while we're discussing the matter. If he approves to let me do this for you, I will write it for you, leave it here so you can edit it, and then let you give it to VirtualSteve. Oh, and one thing: SIGN THE LETTER WITH YOUR IP, NOT YOUR NAME! Steve has already expressed to me that he doesn't like it when you sign "the name of a blocked user", even if it is yourself. I'll put your username in the letter somewhere so he knows it is you he is talking to, if he approves. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 01:02, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

RP, I really need your help with A Man In Black and his deletionist views, he's practically vandalized the articles.Fairfieldfencer FFF 08:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I can try, but I really don't know if there's much more if I can do. I'm not an expert fiction writer, and as you can see, a lot of my best contributions are nonfiction. Unfortunately, Wikipedia policies on notability do lean in favor of A Man in Black, and I'm willing to bet that A Man in Black is an immediatist, wanting an immediate improvement to the encyclopedia. As much as I've wanted to avoid it, I'm willing to bet that, with the exception of Sonic, all of the articles are going to get merged. It just seems to be the way that WikiProject Video games and Wikipedia policies are going lately. Don't get me wrong, it's great that we're getting rid of fancruft (like all those locations, wtf was with those articles?), but it's certainly not what I really want to see right now. This is why I've favored transwiki-ing all of this, so we can keep the content somewhere at least. If I had it my way, anything that was transwiki-ed would have an optional redirect to the appropriate Wikia article in a list. But that's probably never going to fly, even if I proposed it at the village pump. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 20:13, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm starting to get fed up with all this; I'm even considering leaving Wikipedia.Fairfieldfencer FFF 20:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, that's ultimately your decision. To be honest, I've been considering semi-retiring for a while because I'm not as active as I was, but then I make my visits and do a little more each time. It's reasons like this that I stopped working with fiction and decided to start working on some nonfiction stuff like Sega Mega Drive. (Actually, that one's a lie, Doktor Wilhelm and I assessed it as A-Class, only to find out it was more screwed up than we thought, so I started working to fix it instead of change the rating and got it to GA status.) If you do leave Wikipedia, I would recommend that you keep using your talents on Wikia, because the work you do is amazing, even if it's not appropriate for Wikipedia in the eyes of the deletionists. Of course, that's just my opinion. Speaking of which, I'll look at Sonic Unleashed when I've got time. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 20:48, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the compliment. But I think I'll stay here, after all the Sega Project wouldn't be much good with just one active member. I'll handle the fiction and you handle the non-fiction. I think it's safe to say that you've got the easier job. ^-^Fairfieldfencer FFF 09:48, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, thanks. Just keep yourself in control when debating with people like A Man in Black, because edit warring and violating WP:3RR isn't good. Anyway, while I'm on the subject, what do you think about that offer I made you to help work on another featured list with me? That will get you some featured content here on Wikipedia, and I could certainly use the help. I'm thinking List of Sega Mega-CD games and I've got a reliable source to cite the list, too, along with all the basic necessary information we need. I know it's reliable because it worked on the WP:FLC for List of Sega 32X games, which just passed. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 16:06, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:800px-S Sonic2006.png.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:04, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Sonic Profile

I don't know if you remember me but i'm Unknown the Hedgehog. You invited me to the Sega Project. Anyway I don't know if you have seen my user page lately but if you want a Sonic profile (the picture) just go to my talk page and tell me what you on the profile. Unknown the Hedgehog 23:13, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

The system runs on flash (the thing I used to get the picture). You see, you have to make the character yourself and there is no copyright or anything like that.

Segas and Pandas

Your list of Sega games looks very impressive, but I'm not the least bit interested in Sega games. I am very much interested in Pandas. To each her own. Chacun a son gout. Happy summer. Das Baz, aka Erudil 16:35, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Could you please help me

I was thinking about making a new userbox and I have the image done (I didn't upload it yet) and I don't know what liscense to use. I used the Sonic Team logo, toke away the text, made the Sonic symbol black, covered the eyes to make it look it's Sonic's shadow, I flipped the bottom two quills upside down so that it looked like Shadow's shadow, and made the red parts of the quills. Oh hey!

How are you? Je me appel Jean Latore. I noticed you on VPP and read your user page. If you want to be admin on Wikipedia i would be honored to nominate you. JeanLatore (talk) 00:53, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes I have reviewed your contribs and feel you are ready. You have a good grasp of policy, interaction, article editing, and have a good personality as well. Everything looks good. I'll let you know when I have your nom. ready. Thanks, JeanLatore (talk) 01:04, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Okay sir just go to Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Red_Phoenix and indicate your acceptance in the space provided. I hope i did a good enough job "selling" your candidacy. JeanLatore (talk) 01:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Oh please be sure to answer the questions too. there probably will be more questions to follow, please do a good job in answering them but please respect the reader's time...don't be too long winded. JeanLatore (talk) 01:15, 6 July 2008 (UTC) Yes but please don't sell yourself short my friend. 2 GA's is still more than most admins have done. That's one thing I really support about you, its your writing skills. Have you accepted yet and answered the questions? JeanLatore (talk) 01:23, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Great!

Ok thanks for your reply and best of luck. I'll vote for you once you accept the nomination and answer the questions. Let me know if you have any questions. Once again, good luck to you, future Admin (in about 5 days)! JeanLatore (talk) 01:28, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Your RFA

Hey whats up. good luck to you, although don't let the early nay sayers get you down -- perhaps you want to weigh in and comment on their oppose rationales, maybe change some minds. In any case, I am going to add some questions to your RFA to further flesh out your positions. Please answer them seriously -- I can tell some of the early voters did not like your answer to question #1 (too general). Ok, let me know if you have any questions. JeanLatore (talk) 02:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

RfA again

OK, so I wrote up a quick nom. Good luck, eh —Giggy 02:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC) I see no need to drop out, you have 3 support votes now. Those people are picking on me because I am french. I still think you are a good candidate. Plz. don't listen to them. JeanLatore (talk) 02:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Please answer the questions sir. Thank you. JeanLatore (talk) 02:59, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Ok cool, thank you. by then you might already be so far ahead you'll be a shoo-in for admin. Talk to you later mon amiJeanLatore (talk) 03:01, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Your RFA

I would suggest you remove your optional statement about JeanLatore being your nom. I would re-write one with Giggy as the nom. America69 (talk) 03:05, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I swithched from Oppose to support in your RFA because you have a new nominator. I would suggest that you pull this RFA, and nay start a new one. Giggy probaly would have no issue nominating you. This JeanLatore issue is not going to go away, and it would be best to withdraw your RFA now. I would suggest setting one up in several days, when this JeanLatore thing goes away. Good luck. America69 (talk) 13:30, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Userboxes

Hey RP, I've finally figured out to make userboxes. So, since you made me one I'd like to return the favour. Name you favorite Sonic character and I'll make a personalized userbox for you. Oh, and I'm watching your talk page so you can reply here.Fairfieldfencer FFF 11:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks FFF. Can you do one for me for Miles "Tails" Prower? Yep, he's been my favorite for a while. Why are you withdrawing? All those questions you gave good answers too. And besides it's 13 to 7. The odds are currenly in your favour. And you could easily delete or strike the questions.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:40, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
FFF, it takes over 70%, and usually more, for a nomination to work, and I just don't see it happening. And if I'm going to be an admin, this isn't the way I want to start this off. Now, I am leaving it open for me to try again in any time between a couple of days and a couple of months when the dust has settled. Perhaps if you ever consider nominating me, you can talk to Giggy about the situation more and about a co-nomination, if you want. But ultimately that's your choice. For now, it's best if I just walk away and start anew. I've got a reputation to rebuild. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 17:46, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Where has your reputation fallen? But tell me when your ready to put yourself back up, (since you were suppose to tell me the first time). You're a good editor and a good friend. And I'll be happy to help you on your way yo adminship. OK, two other things to mention: 1: Thank you for all the nice things you said on your userpage. 2: Why don't you ask Unknown the Hedgehog if he'd like to be adopted.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:50, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
I just might do that, thanks for the suggestion, FFF. If you read over the RFA, I was accused of being "naive, hasty" and in a struck-out comment "doing it for the honor" (struck out because he said I addressed it even though it wasn't in the comment he listed). I'm none of those things, at least I try not to be. I got a few dirty opposes from not looking into JeanLatore more before accepting the nom. There's a variety of things, but I did what I thought was best for now. Not to worry, there will be a day when I do achieve sysop status to help Wikipedia more. • To add to the above comments, I am really sorry about how your RfA went, but I think you did the right thing by withdrawing it at this time. In a few months time, if you keep doing the fine work you have been doing, I'll be happy to support another RfA and possibly to co-nom as well. Regards, Nsk92 (talk) 18:16, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

I was just on my way to switch my neutral to a support (I decided my concerns about the AfD's were at worst very minor, and that I equally couldn't fault you for AGFing JeanLatore). Honestly I think your RfA actually had a decent chance of passing if you'd let it run, but it's not a bad idea to come back in the near future (about a month would be my recommendation) with a clean nomination. ~ mazca t | c 21:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, there's certainly no harm in waiting, so I'll just have to be patient. Thanks for your concerns anyway. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:15, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Your RfA

I see you withdrew, but it's a shame it was because it got hijacked by a previously-banned user that poisoned the well rather than because you chose to step back and do some self-reflection. If you go up again next week, I'll continue with the same "weak support." If it's a few months from now, that support is likely to be stronger. Please keep me posted. I don't think there is any rush here. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 21:23, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I'm not in any rush to fill out another RFA, but rather, I'm going to let at least a few days pass and wait for someone else who believes I'm the man for the job to nominate me (if you look at some of the above threads, there are users who would be willing to, three of them at last count.) Anyway, I'll let you know if another RFA for me comes up shortly and I'll keep you posted. And thanks for the comments. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 21:27, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
I would strongly advise waiting months, not days or weeks, before another RfA. First, quick renominations rarely succeed and the mere act of accepting a quick renomination would be considered by many a sign of bad judgement. Second, in your case, it is really necessary to put some time between another RfA and the unfortunate JL episode. If you are put for another RfA too quickly, there would be a battle between a simpathy vote of those who think that what happened to you in the first one was unfair and between those who will question your judgement in accepting JL's nomination (and trust me, by looking at the AN/I thread yesterday, you really don't want the baggage that the issue of JL and his prior incarnations would bring to the debate). That's a recipe for a highly contentious RfA that, even if it succeeds, would be a net negative for you and everybody else. You don't want a battle of this sort, you want a clean discussion on the merits of the case. There is no need to rush this and every reason not to. Regards, Nsk92 (talk) 11:32, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
As I said, I'm not in any rush. I'm just going to wait this out and we'll see what happens next. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 13:23, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry about it mate - plenty of articles to write, still! —Giggy 03:08, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Sega GENESIS

If it has two names, then the title needs to have two names as well. By the way, that site (Sega-16) is not a reliable source. I'm so sorry you think so. They list UNLICENSED Sega games (yeah, I'm sure Sega would list unofficial games on their "GENESIS Master List"). The site also lists some games with the wrong title. Tsk tsk tsk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeremeK (talkcontribs) 16:12, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Sega16 site also doesn't list some titles either. They are missing. It also doesn't list the different region titles (e.g. Final Blow/James 'Buster' Douglas Knockout Boxing). Some games have three different titles, one for NA, one for JP and one for EU, which the site doesn't have. Good luck with your crappy list. I'm sure the "worldwide" list will appeal to Europeans who can find all of their game titles, as well as the Japanese and Americans. Each can find each of their own titles easily, right? I won't be using your crapped-out list. I'll make my own cleaned up, officially titled and officially licensed list, thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeremeK (talkcontribs) 16:50, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

They don't possess a Mega Drive Master List? Aww, too bad. I guess it's safe to use the GENESIS Master List for the Mega Drive list. Wait, they are the same machine so it doesn't matter. I guess the Mega Drive users will understand that the "Mega Drive" list contains "Genesis" titles when they look for their game Final Blow. Do they need a "Mega Drive Master List"? Why? Isn't the Genesis Master List good enough? I mean they are the same machine, right?

That still doesn't count for the fact that the site gets titles wrong and lists unofficial games.

Psst! The Genesis Master List isn't an official list and the Sega 16 website isn't offically Sega either. I guess Sega doesn't possess a Genesis Master List either. Wait, I'm starting to remember...that's right...Sega had a magazine that had all the official US Genesis releases.

I was gonna clean it up and have only official titles with offically licensed games, but go ahead, it's all yours. You're in charge now, Mr. Sega. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JeremeK (talkcontribs) 18:19, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

First off, thanks for the two peer reviews. Here are the issues I have ran into regarding the improvement of the NES games list:

  • I've been actually considering getting rid of the region codes altogether. I don't think enough people are going to care about where exactly the games were released. Besides, the list is already as big enough as it is that it may not be needed. Even if they should be included, I don't think every single mentioning of region code should be wikilinked, as it would be overkill (as with the insistence of providing a separate reference for EVERY title, as recommended with the Super NES lists), as well as eat up more bandwidth. If I'm going to keep them, I think maybe providing a legend at the top could help.
  • As far as merging the NES and Famicom lists, I tried that by proposing a merger here. Apparently, users felt it wasn't needed. (In addition, A Link to the Past also had some similar opposing comments about it way back when I brought it up on the WPVG talk page.) I think any effort made to merge the two would be met with some stiff opposition.
  • While featured lists like the 32X and Virtual Boy lists have made FL, those lists are 1/20 (or less) the size of this one; we are dealing with more than 800 games here. I've been trying to follow the List of Nintendo 64 games, which is somewhat comparable and is also an FL. However, I think a big step with this list is that it is sortable, as it wasn't in the past.

That's what I think about the recommendations of the list. It needs to stay small but still be concise and informative. MuZemike (talk) 04:51, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hitmaker-logo.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hitmaker-logo.gif.

Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Question regarding List of NES games

For sortable tables, do you know of any other way to have titles automatically sorted while ignoring indefinite articles (i.e. titles starting with "a," "an," or "the") besides piping every problematic wikilink to omit said words? Because I noticed, when you click the sort button in the "Title" column, you get a whole list of "The..." items under "T" where they should be elsewhere. (For instance, clicking the sort button above the title column would send The Adventures of Bayou Billy down to "T" instead of remaining at "A".) I tried looking at Help:Sorting at the Wikimedia page and no dice. MuZemike (talk) 20:48, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Can you take a second look at the List of NES games, in which you peer reviewed for me a while ago? I made some changes, including removing the region codes and adding separate references for every entry to ensure complete verifiability of every game on the list. I'm also experimenting with the usage of the {{vgrelease}} family of templates for those games that were published by different companies in different regions. I have still yet to work on the lead, as I have been busy working on the list itself as well as finally getting a solid Internet connection in my new place. I think you've taken the liberty of having the wiki on your shoulders, RP. Even the tiniest of edits are gratified. Sure things seem big, but you can always call for a hand, or just step away from the computer for a few minutes. Slow things down a bit. That's what my mum tells me to do, and doctor's orders are nothing compared to the advise of a mother. Wikipedia is everybody's encyclopedia. You're not alone in your quest to make articles better, there are probably others who want to fix up the same articles as you. I doubt it's all that much work. Really all we're doing here is typing and adding information from other sites. Take a little break and when you come back things will seem much smaller, and you'll be laughing at how much of a mountain you made out of a mole hill. And I just used the copy and paste function with the last newsletter. You certainly deserve to be featured member, I think the only reason you weren't the first one was because you authored it.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:37, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
And I was wondering what you thought of my story, Omega Encounter. Incase you didn't see it it's posted above.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:39, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and if you wish to contact me, please go here. As you know a bunch of my friends got blocked recently, and the only reason I wasn't was because of my edits. Still, better safe than sorry.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:46, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
What does playing a game have to do with it? Most of the articles mainly focus on reception and the developers. And may I suggest that you try taking up editing on SNN when you've got the time. It would really help you get more experience with fiction articles. Perhaps you could even run for admin on there. You've managed to get two articles to GA status and one FA. There's only two admins at the moment there, and I could be a possible third. They won't have seen what happened back at RFA, and I don't see why you let that get your spirits down in the first place. With what you've done on Wikipedia, they'll be putty in your hand.Fairfieldfencer FFF 09:14, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Don't go!

Your leaving? RP, you're taking this way too seriously. I once left the project because of all the hassel about Sonic character articles going TTN's way, but my mother told me that just because things were going his way was no reason for me to leave. It was a reason why I should stay. The Sega Project needs people like you and me to hold a balance and make sure things are done properly. You can't just run away from your problems. Why are you making this such a big deal? Wikipedia isn't a responsability, it isn't your job. It's more of an educational and fun pass-time. It's like life, it isn't hard you make it hard for yourself. Stop carrying the wiki on your shoulders, let it slide off and edit when you can. That's what makes it fun. It isn't your duty, it's just an act of kindness and a way to make you feel good about yourself with the work you've done that has helped others.Fairfieldfencer FFF 14:36, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Well I hope that's soon.Fairfieldfencer FFF 19:30, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Some unsolicited comments

Hey. I hope you forgive the prying, but I couldn't help but notice several statements you've made on talk pages recently. I completely understand the frustrations and tedium that can come from editing here. Very quickly, it can become annoying and lose its charm, especially when real life trumps our volunteer time here. Giving it up entirely has crossed my mind several times, but I know myself better than that. A full stop isn't in the cards for me right now.

Just thought I'd mention that there's nothing wrong with taking an indefinite wikibreak, or just plain retiring. Sometimes it's the best thing to do rather than logging on halfhearted/unfocused for a week or month, etc. I know from experience that just taking some time off can be more productive.

On another note- I don't think your reputation is bad and see no reason for you to disappear, but that's your choice should you do it. Anyway, take your time doing what you need to do. Just remember there's a group of editors here that would welcome you back as Red Phoenix. Take care, and take it easy. (Guyinblack25 talk 22:13, 6 October 2008 (UTC))

Stumbling onto this now. Just wanted to echo Guyinblack25's comments. I remember crossing paths with you several times, and always thought you were pretty reasoned and balanced in the middle of heated disputes, and had a good grasp of policy. I was shocked to hear that your RFA didn't go well, and then I saw the mess that transpired. I know how incidents like that can make you ask why it's worth it. Wikipedia can be fun again if you can drag yourself away from the meta discussions and get back to the articles you find interesting. That said, there are way more important things than Wikipedia. Either way, if you've decided to move on once and for all, don't let it be out of bitterness and frustration. Randomran (talk) 20:56, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Glad to hear you're at least thinking about it. There's a lot of ways to find your niche. You could browse through Category:Video game cleanup and look to see if there's an article in bad shape that is worth adopting, and polishing into something good. Or maybe look through a category by platform, like Category:Sega games. Or maybe just do minor edits until you find yourself pulled somewhere interesting. Or try something totally different, like history or politics. ... anyway, I'm sure you don't need me to tell you what to edit. I'm optimistic you'll find something that inspires you. Randomran (talk) 23:41, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh

I feel just like you, Editing ... Boring, Life... Busy, I haven't edited for sega much since i got back ( only minor edits to Hajime Satomi months ago ) and I probably wont do but I also feel like its my duty to do as such and help as much as I possibly can, but I lost all interest when I was banned so i've never really got my Wikilife back. Thanks for uploading Image:WSbaseball.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:A-Class Sega articles, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:A-Class Sega articles has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:A-Class Sega articles, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. The list of space combat flight simulator games

Hello my fellow list creating friend who I have never met or spoken to in my whole life. Over the past year I created the List of space flight simulator games on Wikipedia. A person named SharkD and I engaged in an edit war(my first I might add ehehhe) because he changed the name of the page and then sorted it to the Chronological list of space flight simulator games, when a good portion of the games on the list have multiple release days. An administrator got involved and to my surprise kinda sided with me and we began the discussion in Wikiproject Video games. The reason why I am messaging you is that I seek advice. If you can post your advice on the Wikiproject Video Games Talk area here that would be very much appreciated. Whether ya agree with me or not I think the discussion could sure use some comments from a guy who has done a whole heck of a lot more lists than I have, thanks again! --Kirihari (talk) 03:37, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

RP! Good to see you, me old mucker! Things have been going well. I've taken up fan-fiction writing and have really got into it. I've even got fans! I became an admin and bureau over at SNN, but a while after I left for this new website: Mobius Encyclopaedia. It's run by this fellow called Thot Prad. It's dedicated to the articles of the Sonic comic books, which I've also got into. How have things been going with you then? What are these changes in the past year?Fairfieldfencer FFF 09:30, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, let's see if I remember some of the old Wikipedia code, been so long since I used it. I work part-time as well as attend college now, so my schedule's pretty well filled now, but save for a few hours of video games a week, I've basically set them aside because I've really gotten into writing myself. I'm writing my own original work, though, not a fanfiction. Instead, I'm writing fantasy fiction, lol. I've also gotten myself into the Dynasty Warriors series of video games, and that's mostly what I play on my Xbox 360. I still have Sonic Mega Collection Plus and I'll break it out every now and then, but otherwise I haven't really done anything with the franchise in a year. I was, however, pleasantly surprised to see some of the work I started here on Wikipedia finished while I was gone, namely List of Sega Mega-CD games, although it's evident that the Sega task force tanked. Oh well, perhaps at some point there will be use for it again. I still just don't have the time or the drive to return quite yet, especially with a lack of stuff I'm interested in working on on Wikipedia (save for the regular checks I do on Crush 40 to make sure that's still a GA), but who knows? It's the first time in several months I've checked my page, maybe it'll happen at some point that I want to come back. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 23:01, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
That's excellent news. Good choice with going for writing. Tell me when you've got it published and I'll pick it up. And as for attending college and a job, it looks like you're well on your way in the world. Getting a solid life started. Congratulations to you, mate.Fairfieldfencer FFF 10:42, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, although I don't think I'm really going to feel good about all of it until I've got my degree and a job that I can use it for. But that may not happen for all I know, because if I get into the writing that much I might just make that my career, lol. I was hoping to get it published around this summer since I'm working very hard to have it finished by then, but it may be longer for all I know. I think I'd certainly like to get it published because of all the effort I've put into it, especially in the last year. If it does happen, I'll let you know. Red Phoenix flame of life...protector of all... 15:07, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
I actually plan on making an original story myself. But it's science-fiction, not fantasy.Fairfieldfencer FFF 08:37, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Live and Learn.ogg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Live and Learn.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. I have nominated List of Sega 32X games for featured list removal here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured list criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks; editors may declare to "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. Non-free rationale for File:What I'm Made Of.ogg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:What I'm Made Of.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:55, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
