Image copyright problem with Image:46109242 m.jpeg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:46109242 m.jpeg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Presentation of Miss World 1985[edit]

Hi there. The information you posted to create 1985 Miss World Pageant, (now Miss World 1985), is a cut and paste from this private website. Did you get approval to paste it into Wikipedia? Also, even if we have approval to use it, the layout desperately needs editing to an encyclopedic presentation style. Moriori 23:38, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:ChrisValletta.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ChrisValletta.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.

The same goes for all the other images you have added to The Apprentice 4 (which, in fact, are all incorrectly licensed) and those have been tagged accordingly. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 05:46, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:DanniBoatwright.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DanniBoatwright.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. I first supported, then opposed, the deletion. I think it should be worked on in Userspace before moving back, but should come back as a very nice list. We could do it here if we want. CrazyC83 01:44, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rita Verreos[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Rita Verreos. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Maxamegalon2000 03:30, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your edits[edit]

Hello. I have noticed that you have been contributing quite a bit to pageant related articles. That's for your participation, Wikipedia can always use more hands to contribute. Please do note however, that the convention on a number of the contestant lists is to use the "common names" of contestants, rather than the "full names".. Also, please consider using an edit summary before you save. This will enable other editors to more easily understand your edits. You can also go into the history of the articles and see what other editors are saying, which will explain why several of your edits have been reverted. I do hope that you stay and contribute and please let me know if I can provide any assistance. Also, if you wish to discuss with anyone a major change to an article, it can be helpful to seek consensus on the article's talk page. Regards. --After Midnight 0001 16:07, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello. I just wanted to stop by again and say that I am glad to see that you are continuing to contribute. I see that you have noted the categories that exist for the individual years for delegates for Miss World and Miss Universe. As a note, usually we don't create those categories until there are 4 people to put in them, so if there are just 2 or 3, you can generally leave them in the parent category for contestants. Please feel free to let me know if I can assist with anything. --After Midnight 0001 14:52, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use disputed for Image:TomLowe2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:TomLowe2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:28, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

October 2007[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Alex Angarita. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Casey Carlson[edit]

Just a friendly note on Casey Carlson. I reverted your addition of a category. Per Wikipedia:CAT#When_to_use_categories, redirects do not usually have categories. If you are trying to make a complete listing of all contestants for all seasons, an article such as List of American Idol contestants would be the way to go. Danny Gokey AfD tag removal[edit]

Please do not remove a Article for Deletion tag until the discussion has been closed as you did on Danny Gokey. Aspects (talk) 17:33, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

David Osmond AfD tag removal[edit]

Please do not remove a Article for Deletion tag until the discussion has been closed as you did on David Osmond. Doing so is considered disruptive and it doesn't really do any good anyway as it does not invalidate or end the discussion. You are much better off simply giving your opinion at the discussion page of the deletion. --User:Woohookitty Diamming fool! 14:36, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to see if you can find items on WP:MUSIC to support this articles inclusion and mention them in the deletion discussion. (John User:Jwy talk) 19:26, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Removing the tag and stating in the edit summary that he's notable doesn't help your cause in any way. It doesn't count as a voice in the deletion discussion and it probably won't be considered when that discussion is closed. So I'd suggest commenting on the article for deletion page instead of constantly removing the AfD tag. --User:Woohookitty Diamming fool! 04:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you remove the notice again, I'm going to suggest that you be blocked. --User:Woohookitty Diamming fool! 10:26, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

3rr warning[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on David Osmond. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Aspects (talk) 10:09, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Table header changes[edit]

Please stop changing tables from the standard wikitable format unless you have discussed the issue on the respective talk pages. The wikitable format is a manual of style format that is in wide use and you should not alter the table format unless you have a consensus to do so. Thank you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:57, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop changing the table headers. The changes you are making have not been discussed and are not following common formatting for tables. Please stop now. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:04, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I have undone all of your table header changes to the various Survivor seasons. Please discuss the issue on the respective talk pages before you change them from a standard format to something different. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:17, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I reverted your change to the header because the change moves the table away from the standard wikitable CSS class that allows anybody to alter their view of all tables on Wikipedia through their own settings per Help:User style. I do not "despise" your header format, but I do not agree that it is "more vibrant and fascinating". As I told you in my previous message to you, I think that you really need to discuss the issue with other editors on the respective article talk pages about your change before you unilaterally change from a standard table format to a non-standard one. I also suggest that you review the policy on article ownership. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 04:30, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:MW 2001 - Channel Five.png[edit]

Miss World title card screen captures[edit]

Hi, in general it's not advised to source screen-captures from You Tube, unless you are sure that the material on You Tube is official.

I've tagged the relevant images as needing a better source, so that other Wikipedians can assist.Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:13, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Seychelles.gif[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Seychelles.gif. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. RabidDeity (talk) 18:23, 3 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
