NHL captains in 2008-09
I suppose, most of them will be the same. If you want to re-add them to the 2008-09 NHL team articles, I won't object (or revert). GoodDay (talk) 22:51, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Hello Raul. Yes, Koivu was named a permanent alternate captain (along with Andrew Brunette). But right now (for October) Koivu is serving as captain & Gaborik is serving as an alternate captain. Brunette & Koivu are permanent alternates in the sense that, when either is not serving as Captain? they'll wear an A (i.e. they'll always have a letter on the jersey, this season). There have been permanent alternates in the past, which we treated the same way on the article. Let's not change things now. GoodDay (talk) 13:02, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
- Okie Dokie. GoodDay (talk) 18:10, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Injured Reserve
I wouldn't bother if the player's injury is day-to-day. The "inj" field was designed for players who are placed on injured reserve. --Flyer47 (talk) 14:25, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Squads
Just look at teams as Liverpool, Milan, Inter, Barcelona, etc. It's nothing to do with 1-25, as players can have which number they want and still be in the first team... And if a player has played first team football for the season, why shouldn't they be listed as first team players of the season? — CHANDLER#10 — 20:16, 11 January 2009 (UTC) Especially players who are chosen in the Champions League squad [1]. — CHANDLER#10 — 20:18, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- As they've made appearances for the first team I'd say yes. It's not often reserve players do play, and in the cases of the two players in Real Madrid, they have even made more than 1 League appearance, and if one would ignore that they have had more chances, they've made as many/more league appearances than Huntelaar and L. Diarra — CHANDLER#10 — 02:51, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
List of current NHL captains and alternate captains, Part II
Hiya Raul. I often wondered, if it would be easier to not bother listing player's who are fill-in as captain or alternates, because of injuries. For awhile, the Avalanche & Stars alternate captains sections, became bloated. GoodDay (talk) 16:29, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- Concerning DiPietro, I'd say yes (he's IR). As for Sillinger? I'm cool with it. GoodDay (talk) 17:12, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
New York Islanders
The best way? is to list all four as Islanders alternate captains. GoodDay (talk) 20:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- I had always thought those four should be listed, but.... Raul17 (talk) 20:59, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hopefully, the Isles will straighten things out in September/October. GoodDay (talk) 21:03, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Just like in 2007, I'll be hoping the Islanders choose Sillinger as captain. However, it's looking unlikely again. PS: The Thrashers have been passing over Kozlov (for the captaincy) since 2005. GoodDay (talk) 21:21, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think his injury is healed and might retire. Raul17 (talk) 23:39, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
Utah Grizzlies Roster
Hey Raul. Just wanted to discuss a little bit about the Utah Grizzlies page. I've been going through the ECHL rosters and editing or adding them (to pages that are missing them). I'd like to see the rosters the same across the board (meaning #, Flag, Name, Catching/Shooting, Position, Birthdate, and Place of birth). The only thing that's kind of bothersome to me is having all the symbols for where each player is at. If it's a current roster, it doesn't make sense to keep that person showing on the roster, we could just hide them like it's set up now. Maybe we can figure something out? Mbsusmc (talk) 13:25, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hey again Raul. Thanks for getting back to me. Quick question, where do you get all the information of who's where, when they were acquired, all this kind of stuff? Kind of new to the whole updating rosters things, so maybe if you can lend some pointers, I might be a good contributor to keeping the rosters around here up to date.Mbsusmc (talk) 03:13, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
SD Rayo Cantabria
--Raymond Cruise (talk) 14:54, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
- Glad to help, RAUL, this is VASCO from Portugal. Raymond said, exactly, this: 1st part: "Sure, sure, that is why in RAYO CANTABRIA's crest it shows the year 1926. I really do not care one bit about this B-team stuff, it's really easy to take RAYO CANTABRIA and all off a sudden i name it RACING B, thus sending an historical team like RAYO down the drain. Even if some take it so hard, RAYO CANTABRIA is historical, and RACING B is from 1993. Clear as clear can be, greetings".
2nd part - "Yes, yes, whatever, your reasons are not convincing, not enough to change a thing. If you don't prove your point, it stays as it is. I am not going to change anything, but if you or anybody else does it, i won't doubt a single second and will revert everything".
Odd approach, RAUL. Consider this chap also does not write a single edit summary, and seems a bit confrontational. Cheers, have a nice week - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 14:54, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- Just thought of it now: he also has the "tendency" to remove, just because, the category Spanish expatriate footballers (i have seen it in 30+ players, and he has been asked by several users to stop). Maybe i could be wrong, but does it not mean a Spanish player has played in other countries? If so, what on earth is Raymond doing??
Cheers, VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 22:15, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Reading Royals
I noticed you removed all mention of the Reading Royals from all the Kings pages. This is incorrect, when the Leafs affiliation with Reading came in last season, the Kings moved to secondary affiliate with the Royals. This is unlikely to ever change as AEG owns 50% of the Royals and as such maintains some semblance of an affiliation with them. Last season's contribution to the Royals was assigning Danny Taylor there until December when the organization had a goaltending shakeup as a result of Jason Labarbera's trade. Diarra
Registered names are all well and good. However, we're an encyclopedia, where we need to present information that is not only accurate, but easily understood. While many people will know who is being discussed when they hear "Lass" others will be more confused. A notation in his article that his registered name in the league is "Lass" is sufficient, but on squad listings and the like, their real names should be used. 99.169.250.133 (talk) 22:57, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- Because, simply put, we don't put nicknames where everyone else has their real name. I've looked through many other articles looking for people who have their nicknames listed, I've found none. Sergio Aguero doesn't go by "Kun" even though it's been on the back of his kit. Lassana Diarra may go by "Lass," but his name is Lassana Diarra, and that's what he needs to be listed as in an encyclopedia. Where does the crap about the logo come into play? How would I know why any other person is deleting a logo from a page? How about you bring that up with the users who are doing that....? 99.169.250.133 (talk) 18:27, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
Real Madrid captains
Salgado indeed was one of the captains! I even applied this information once (see here and here), but it must have been removed since. It was quite possibly the presentation of the new La Saeta airplane which he attended with the other captains where I noticed it from. The original link seems to have died already.
I didn’t see the new photos yet, but there’s a video on the official website (the one called ”Foto oficial”). Starting from 2:12 they first show Pérez with the new signings, then with the canteranos and finally with the captains where Ramos briefly appears. He is also mentioned in the piece of news I referred to in my edit summary. –Kooma (di algo) 20:23, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

If the template for the islanders roster is based on how its listed on there website then he shouldnt be on it, as he isnt on the Islanders website roster. Ucscottb4u (talk) 13:53, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Weight was injured for the last 3 months of last seson. its not that he wasnt wearing an A its that he wasnt wearing a JERSEY let alone a letter. Flood is not on the team roster. he destined to be a Soundtiger the minute hes activated. He has never played a single NHL game. there is no reason to believe that he will actually be on the roster unless half the team is injured. Please it really doesnt make sense to have him on there. Ucscottb4u (talk) 17:37, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
- WTF?!! Dude, check these: at Capitals, vs Canadiens, vs Lightning, at Hurricanes, at Penguins, vs Flyers, vs Bruins
- My question: if Weight missing the last three months of the season warranted him not getting the A next to his name, then why was Sillinger is allowed to be assigned an A when he missed the last five montha of the season? Park and Weight were named as alternates sharing Sillinger's A at the start of the season; why was Park listed (near the end of the season) and not Weight? Nilly-willy'ed agained!! Gorka José Unda Velasco was a redirect to Real Madrid C that was deleted because the player is not notable. I don't see the point in keeping a red link if that link will not become blue because the article won't be created any time soon. Geregen2 (talk) 21:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Re: Adán
It's important to bear in mind WP:NOR. Just because it may be a reasonable inference to draw about his status based on shirt number, that doesn't mean that such an inference is enyclopedic or based on external sources. AFAICT the Real Madrid lists him on the squad as any other player, right? So I don't see that there would be any basis to omit him from the squad list. - Cheers, PhilipR (talk) 04:25, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Please
Hi RAUL, VASCO from Portugal here,
Please stop adding wrong years in Alípio. Yes, as you say, he did not appear in any games for R.Madrid B and C in the 2009-10 season, only for Juvenil side. However, he has already played professionally with those two teams (B and C), starting in 2009. After his return from Benfica, it is VERY LIKELY he will appear some more for the two reserve squads, so it's 2009- (2009 being the year where he first played for a given team, in this case both the B's and the C's - the references say so!), not 2008-2009.
Please respect other people's work, happy editing and week for you. Cheers - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 20:19, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yes man, maybe it was a poor choice of words on my part, sorry for that. However, rest assured (not just me, it's common pratice on footballers at WP) that the way i talked you about is the way it is done. Kind regards, keep it up - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
- After reading your message thoroughly, yes i see what you mean, but infoboxes of players do not allow for months, days or similar, ONLY years (that is why storyline is important, where we can write where in time did a given player sign with x/y/z team). Cheers - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 03:49, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
Re: Madrid Kit Numbers
Fair enough - the Madrid website is also inconsistent - the Spanish version has the "up to date" numbers, while the English version still retains last season's numbers. I was more concerned with the inconsistency between the various articles here than anything else. And I agree with you - it would have been nice to have left the shirt vacant for at least one season and certainly not to have been given to you-know-who! Wolsey01 (talk) 20:40, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Marcelo
I believe Marcelo was also captain once during last year's pre-season, but I could be mistaken. FYI, the captain during today's second half was Dudek (Source: Marca). I was under the impression that to be a RM captain you needed both seniority and the support of the the squad, since RM captains have duties outside of football matches? In any case, it's probably best to hold off on editing the article until the transfer window closes. Sadly, it looks like M. Diarra may not be there for much longer. Gdtdg (talk) 05:12, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
I was not disagreeing with you? I believe you responded to me thinking I was someone else. Gdtdg (talk) 22:56, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
No worries, you didn't come off huffy or anything, the discussion just seemed off-topic. The Real Madrid C and RM Castilla policies have been inconsistent ever since they started selling players to keep the squads young. Back in the day, a player could play most of his career at Castilla, but not anymore. Madrid have 4 CDMs after M. Diarra, Xabi Alonso being the by far best CDM in La Liga. He can distribute the ball both short and deep, and last season he proved to be an impenetrable wall. If Xabi had not been suspended for the second game against Lyon last season, RM would have gone much further in the Champions League. The other 3 CDMs are Khedira (new), Lass (who can play RM, LM, and RB too), and Gago (who has been a little inconsistent in the past but recently had improved his form). This is what makes the sale of M. Diarra so likely, too many people in that position, plus lack of minutes, plus the recent acquisition of Khedira. If anything though, I hope he finds the same glory the guys that left last season did. Although he might not be in the same form now, M. Diarra was still one of the reason RM won La Liga in 06-07 and 07-08. Anyway, take care. Hopefully, the captain situation is resolved next week. PS. Today 0-0 result sucks, this season is going to be an uphill battle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gdtdg (talk • contribs) 21:48, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

RE: Just asking
Hi, i didn't get your question well. Do you mean if the English site is going up to date as spanish site in news/articles/etc related to reserve and youth teams? If was that, well, i saw the english site on Sunday and there was the report of the first game of the season (of RM Castilla and RM "C")... But the spanish site has more interviews and reports about the players... The squad sections are not listed yet, but should be done in a few days, today they put a notice with the final squads of RM Castilla and the "C" team. If something isn't clear, ask me. Regards. XavierHD (talk) 02:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- I see... I know what you're talking, those sections were really useful, and they had info not only about RM Castilla and 'C' squads, also the youth teams. It's weird, but maybe it's because the season has started just one week ago. Let's wait untill mid-september/october and perhaps the whole website will be as always has been. The Rfef site used to have them, but they have stopped several years ago. The Ffm site is good for yellow & red cards, but there is not even a goal scoring sheet from them!! I use them for official team rosters (You might have noticed that I use § on the Castilla & Madrid C rosters to indicate players that are on Juvenil A roster.) I have been searching the web for fansites that might help, but so far I have not. The Madrid site itself stopped following the third team three seasons ago!! Thanks for the 2009–10 statistics! About what you said, "I am still trying to find a reliable source for games he played in and started." Well, i had to look in every single match report on Real Madrid's website, since 2008–09 season... That was a lot of work! The best part is that Alonso's and Sarabia's statistics are a more clear too. I don't know any website that collects statistics of RM Castilla. If only they were in Segunda División... Real Madrid v Mallorca formation
The game may have transitioned to a 4-2-3-1 during the later stages, but I'm using the starting formation graphic from the universal television feed as the starting formation. I know coaches are required to submit a roster and a starting lineup before each match. I'm ASSUMING they also provide the formation as well, and that's just not made up by the television station. You can see it here.Xboxandhalo2 (talk) 20:05, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi there RAUL, VASCO from Portugal here,
Regarding several edits at Marcos Alonso Mendoza, you and me included, please read the message i sent User:XavierHD (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:VascoAmaral#RE:_Club_name.28s.29_.28RM_Castilla.29), and his pertinent response in my talkpage. Then tell me what your opinion is please. I have the gut feeling you will agree with Xavi, but i won't "take it personal" :)

Central Hockey League
Hey, its nice to see an other Central Hockey League fan on here. I see that you update the Odessa Jackalopes page and I would like to thank you. I made it my job to expand Wikipedia's coverage of the CHL. Here are some of the things I have done. I have been creating the CHL season pages... here is this years page 2010–11 CHL season and this season I have created a season page for every singe team. The 2010–11 Wichita Thunder season is the page I have been spending my time on since i am a Wichita fan. I would just like to thank you for all your work in the Central Hockey League area. I am looking forward to working with you in the future.
For your reference:

Raul 17,
Like Ilamb94, I would like to express my excitement that there is another passionate CHL editor on Wikipedia. Ilamb94 and I first came into contact a month or two ago and we are now collaborating on some routine updating projects, including building templates of Central Hockey League team rosters, such as this one I have been working on for the Missouri Mavericks. Ilamb94 brought it to my attention that you regularly update the Odessa Jackalopes roster. Would you be interested in generating a template page for the Jackalope's roster, moving your roster coding to that page, applying your roster information to the template coding Ilamb94 and I use, integrating the template into the Jackalope's main page, and continuing to regularly update roster from there from then on? If you used the template Ilamb94 and I are using, you admittedly won't be able to use your "§", "€", etc. symbols, but the roster should be much easier to maintain and more flexible across different Wikipedia pages. Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
--Wcreed88 —Preceding undated comment added 04:47, 18 October 2010 (UTC).
I have a question regarding the edit made to the Gators' page. If the SPHL is considered "A" hockey and the ECHL/CHL is considered "AA" hockey, I would assume the ladder would be:
Top: Isles AAA: Sound Tigers AA: Wings/Jackalopes A: IceGators
I know hockey doesn't use that per se, but with the amount of callups from the SPHL to the ECHL, it is apparent they are not equal. However, I'm not sure Twitter is verifiable, but it looks like Louisiana may have misunderstood what happened. It appears that a two-way AHL players was sent down from Bridgeport and Louisiana took that as an affiliation. Shootmaster 44 (talk) 04:09, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
- I have seen many of the lower level leagues like the MAHL, NEHL and the like talk about "A" level hockey. On your other point, there are movements between AHL and ECHL clubs during AHL training camp. Routinely, I have seen contracted Manchester Monarchs players assigned to Reading or Ontario (depending on the year). Granted this isn't usually the norm, but it does happen. Plus, I have seen the parent club reassign players to Manchester from Ontario and vice-versa. (Sorry being a Kings fan I don't follow the Isles closely, so I can't verify whether or not the Isles do that) However, if you want to make the point that an ECHL club and an AHL club don't follow player movements, is it verifiable that agreements even exist between an AHL team and an ECHL team? I know in some cases there are common ownership groups, but are there even formal links between the teams? On these pages, we do add the AHL affiliate to the ECHL team's template, but is this truly the case? Shootmaster 44 (talk) 03:42, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Islanders' Injured Reserve
If the players are still on the IR but not so noted on the NHL website, just add another reference that shows them (still) on IR. That's been done in the past when the NHL site is slow to list captaincy changes. —C.Fred (talk) 15:45, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
RE: Javi Velayos
Yes, that was weird. Maybe he ended his contract and signed with them, those kind of news are hard to find. By the way, realmadrid.com updated today all the profile pages of the 303 players in every team of the club. Great, right? I haven't checked the english site, but maybe is updated too. –HD Ask, comment, talk! 20:00, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
suspended players
Hi: I would say its incorrect to hide suspended players from the NHL roster templates. A suspended player is still on the 23-man roster, he just a healthy scratch. ccwaters (talk) 13:54, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. Essentially a 3 game suspension means a player has to be a scratch three times before he can skate again. The Flyers actually sent down Jesse Boulerice to the Phantoms repeatingly during his 25G suspension just to get roster space. Every NHL game he missed while in the AHL didn't count towards his suspension and essentially lengthened his suspension. ccwaters (talk) 00:44, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

RE: Fran Rico's goal (???)
Yea mate, sorry if I sounded rude in the edit summary, but I mean that all the sites that I use to work with the statistics assigned that goal to Fran Rico. Soccerway for example (unlike they have their own mistakes too, Sarabia has 6 or 7 goals according to them and not 9). Futbolme I think that is more confident that you make it look, in my opinion ;) at least this season...
And the goal, a lot of match reports listed that as an own goal, but they don't make the decision! The referee made it, and here, he granted the goal to Fran Rico. That day I was watching the game and I had my doubts, but I waited untill the act was online and there! That's all I needed. Something similar happened this season with Cristiano Ronaldo, a free kick that hit in Pepe and the referee granted the goal to the latter. MARCA, who assign the Pichichi Trophy, added that goal to Cristiano, just because. This has to do with the rules also, I've always known that if the ball hits in a partner and goes in, is his goal. But if hits an opponent, and the shot had net intention & direction, the goal is yours. –HD Ask, comment, talk! 13:30, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- I normally go to Rfef first (especially for yellow & red cards), but the page could not download! When I saw the clip, there was no way Fran Rico was getting a goal and I do not know why the ref gave him the goal. Like I said, I saw plenty of own goals that should have been given to the attacking player. Another reason why it should have been an own goal, I think Fran Rico was given an indirect free-kick. If he pretended to be the original glam-boy and kicked the ball directly into the net, it would have (or should have) been disallowed. There was only two-man wall, so I am sure that was not direct free-kick. Raul17 (talk) 14:04, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Landesliga Bayern
Hi Raul, I'm just wondering if you could point me in the right direction in regards to the Landesliga qualifying from the Bavarian Bezirksoberligas. I noticed your additions, which make sense but I'm not sure where to find that information. The official BFV announcement only says that the qualifying past 6th place in the BOL is decided by the Bezirke and the number of fixed places, nothing else. Is there a link to a source you could give me? Calistemon (talk) 11:10, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Great stuff! I was looking for those but couldn't find them on the BFV website. They might have come out since I last looked. In any case, thanks a lot for the links! Calistemon (talk) 15:29, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
For those who are interested. Raul17 (talk) 01:49, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- Playoffs will definetly continue as the rules of the Bavarian FA stipulate that all runners-up have the right to take part in a promotion round. At this stage, I don't think the BFV has worked it all out themselfs. The boundries of the new Landesligas will be flexible, not like the old ones, which were clearly defined. While clubs from most of Swabia, for example, will most certainly play in the Southwest division, teams from the very north of the Bezirk could also be grouped in the Central division. Munich is going to be interessting, its quite likely that clubs from there will play in different leagues, which is already the case at Bezirksliga level. As to the pre-BOL days, I seem to remember playoffs, but that was quite a while ago! Calistemon (talk) 10:53, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- Reading the history of the Landesliga, the Qualifying playoff started in 1981 so only the Bezirksliga champions were promoted. Raul17 (talk) 16:26, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- The qualifying playoffs from the Landesliga to the Bayernliga started in 1981, that is true. Some form of playoffs however must have existed to the Landesliga prior to that because initially only three clubs, later four, were promoted to the league but five Bezirksligas existed below it for the most part. I also know that, in 1985, Türk Gücü München beat VfR Neuburg 3-0 in a promotion game to the Landesliga but both were promoted that season. Also, a year or so after the BOL Schwaben was established, the Augsburger Allgemeine reported that the BOL runners-up from Schwaben earned promotion through playoffs, something the Bezirksliga runners-up prior that had always failed to achieve. Just a few indications, old newspapers could tell more. Calistemon (talk) 16:53, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- I see. I thought the Qualifying playoff starting in 1981 with the declaration of the all league runners-up receiving a chance at promotion. Thanks Raul17 (talk) 17:19, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Wings' affiliation
If you go to ECHL.com and hover over the Kalamazoo Wings' logo, when you see "AHL Affiliate," it says "Chicago Wolves & Albany Devils" Tom Danson (talk) 23:41, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I know. This also happened to the Reading Royals where the ECHL site kept listing the Boston Bruins' AHL affiliate at Providence as an affiliate and it was not. It is the same thing. But if you go to both the Chicago Wolves and Kalamazoo Wings websites, you will see that neither club list the over as an affiliate. Raul17 (talk)
- This is just too confusing...how can a team be an affiliate of the NHL team but not the AHL team? Especially in a AA hockey league? Tom Danson (talk) 00:46, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Just like a team can be an affiliate of the AHL team but not the NHL team (Chicago Wolves & Missouri Mavericks). Most of the time, if an AHL team is owned by the NHL team, they will share affiliates. Most NHL-AHL partnerships are just working agreements. I guess the Wolves feel that the Kalamazoo Wings are too close to them to affiliate with each other. Raul17 (talk)

Transfers at Real Madrid Castilla
Hello, I don't know what your rationale is for including unsourced transfers at Real Madrid Castilla but generally this information is not included on football club pages, so I have undone your revert of my original edit. Please leave me a message on my talk page if you would like to discuss this further. Cloudz679 15:24, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Transfers have never been included on football club pages for those clubs in the Primera División or the Segunda División; they are posted in a yearly Spanish transfer page, but they generally do not include transfers of lower level clubs in the Segunda División B unless the player is moving to/from higher level club. I have included such transfers on this page since I have joined and apparently, the experienced editors have not frowned on this practice. These transfers are from the Madrid site, Futbolme & Transfermarkt. I would gladly reference them. Raul17 (talk) 18:52, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your response. Transfers in the Segunda Division B would be for players on amateur contracts, would it not, which are not inherently notable - hence their omission at the yearly Spanish transfer page you mentioned. Cloudz679 19:56, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- That is not true; there are players that are on professional or amateur contracts. Merchán, Óscar Plano & Mandi have amateur contracts and the rest rest of the squad are pros: CASTILLA & JUVENIL A Raul17 (talk) 20:46, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

B teams - not just Real Madrid Castilla
Hi there RAUL, longtime no "see",
can we please (please!) reach a compromise in the player infoboxes? Yes i know the club is called REAL MADRID CASTILLA in full, but for compression purposes, REAL MADRID B suffices in box. I have written that for ALL the clubs in all the player articles, yet you seem to have a tremendous problem with it man, don't know why.
It's just for compression purposes (and please don't answer RM CASTILLA is even smaller, because RM is not the same as having REAL MADRID), the full name would then appear in intro/body of article.
Keep up the good work (also, is it true that my countryman José Mourinho wants Alberto Toril out of the club? Now that they are all but promoted? Is it because maybe he wants more Portuguese players in the club, like Pedro Filipe Mendes? I am Portuguese and find it 100% appalling; also, you'd be surprised to hear my overall opinion on Mourinho and his entourage, given my country of birth), cheers! --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:32, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hello. Sorry, I thought that using RM Castilla was correct because that was what Madrid wanted. There was a statement about it when they received approval returning to the Castilla name. When I find the article, I will post it. Anyways, it seems that no one cares or at least none of the senior editors do not seem to worry so I will leave them alone. An arguement can be used that Plus Ultra & Castilla should be changed.
2012-13 Regionalliga & other relegation systems
You know much more then me, I have not looked that far ahead I have to say. I wasn't even aware that the Bavarian FA has published the competition rules for next year. Calistemon (talk) 11:31, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will be checking to see what have been decided. Raul17 (talk) 11:59, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- The Regionalligaordnung makes no mention of relegation at all but the Spielordnung mentiones two directly relegated teams while the next two face the Bayernliga runners-up. There is however a provision that, should there be more then 18 teams in the league there would be a third directly relegated team the following year. Will this apply to 2012-13 I wonder? Calistemon (talk) 11:51, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Well, that was why I was surprised that only three teams were directly relegated after this season. Normally, the teams ranked 16 thru 18 (3 teams) are relegated directly with the 14 & 15 playing in the playoff against the Bayernliga runners-up. Just like the Tercera División in Spain, whenever the league is over 20 (for Spain) those teams falling in the extra slots are directly relegated which means that the Regionalliga should have relegated five teams this year. My basis for the playoff/relegation is from each of the league's standings in Fupa. Raul17 (talk) 01:42, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
- Just like Fupa Weltfussball.de and Fussball.de have three directly relegated teams, not five. Going by the Regionalligaordnung three direct relegation spots are the maximum permitted, even if more are needed. I guess the rules just don't allow for more. The question is also the relegation play-offs. Are both winners are promoted or will there be another game and only one goes through? A lot of times these games are used to adjust the league strength, too. We should not forget about those! Calistemon (talk) 08:02, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

Regionalliga Bayern & Bayernliga
I was wondering how they would dodge the problem of an uneven number of clubs in the Bayernliga-Landesliga relegation. Now we know, three Bayernliga clubs instead of the expected two take part! Thanks for the info,
- Have you got a source for the new promotion/ relegation between the Landesliga and the Bezirksliga in Bavaria? I could use it for a reference. Thanks, Calistemon (talk) 13:50, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Regionalliga season table templates
Hi there, can you maybe explain the rationale behind using templates for the tables in the 2012-13 Regionalliga article? To me this just makes editing them more difficult as it requires a lot more searching (I have to look up each template and edit it). The templates seem to embody just the normal table code that was used in the article itself before. What is the advantage, I fail to see it. Madcynic (talk) 10:04, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Baltics in WP:HOCKEY
Saw yours @ GoodDay's. Just so you know, legally according to international law, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania were never the "USSR". WP practice is to use the name of the legitimate sovereign nation. Of course, that does not prevent much wailings and gnashings of teeth over what to call the Baltic states while under the forcible control of the USSR. VєсrumЬа ►TALK 21:09, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
- Wow! Wasn't familar of that. But I rarely get into it. I usually change Russia to USSR, Czech & Slovak republics to Czechoslovakia and a few Lithuania and Ukraine in the hockey rosters. But if someone reverts them, I just ignore them and let someone else revert/correct it. The Russia, Czech Republic & Slovakia annoys me more than the Baltic states. Thanks for the info!! The article 2012–13 Fußball-Regionalliga Nordost has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- exact copy of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012%E2%80%9313_Fu%C3%9Fball-Regionalliga#Regionalliga_Nord and perfectly covered there.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Koppapa (talk) 22:24, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- No discussion is needed. I made a mistake while trying to make a template for the league standings. In fact, the five templates should be deleted because it is troublesome to update. Raul17 (talk) 23:29, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Peru (Recent Call-ups)
The term "recent call-ups" is standard in most football national team articles. I do not like that term as it sounds un-encyclopedic and causes confusion. Essentially, it means a player that has recently participated in the national team but has not played the most recent match. In the current case, Benavente would be part of the "Current squad" but not the "recent call-ups". If Benavente does not play in Peru's next match, then will he be removed from the "current squad" and placed into "recent call-ups".
Hope this helps.--MarshalN20 | Talk 00:22, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- Makes sense. But it should be removed because it is confusing and it is un-encyclopedic!! Thanks Raul17 (talk) 00:29, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
- I am currently working on an improved version of the article (see User:MarshalN20/Sandbox4). I will take your comment into consideration; feel free to add your opinion if you have any other suggestions. Best wishes.--MarshalN20 | Talk 00:34, 20 April 2013 (UTC)

Mourinho - Toril (reply)
Hi there RAUL, AL here,
indeed you are correct in your judgements. The media in my country sell the story Mourinho is persecuted in Spain only because he's Portuguese, and many many of my compatriots "buy" it, as well as believing Mourinho is a cantera provider when he, in 99,99999999999% of the cases, only gives the irrelevant minutes to the boys (i expressed these thoughts in a Portuguese internet forum last year, was immediately insulted - "You're pathetic!", said the person full of internet courage). The case of Pedro Filipe Mendes last season? Very shaky to say the least...
The behaviour of both Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo last night? Despicable, as (nearly) always. Glad to hear from you, keep up the great work --AL (talk) 00:43, 19 May 2013 (UTC)

- It will just be like the 2ªB Group 3 where I said that five teams will be relegated instead of the four & #17 in the qualification playoff and was basicly over-ruled. Thanks Raul17 (talk) 01:22, 28 May 2013 (UTC)

Its not lost, its still in List of clubs in the Landesliga Bayern-Mitte if that is what you are worried about. The reason I have removed it is that the current Landesliga Bayern-Mitte is substantially different in teritory and member clubs from the old Landesliga Bayern-Mitte. I'm unsure as to whether to create a new article for the current league or not. What do you think? Calistemon (talk) 16:23, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- Heehee. I am in the process of writing a year/season of Baverian football and there was no way I could duplicate that section. Yes, a new article should be made since this league does not neccessarily just contain teams from Mittelfranken, Oberpfalz and Niederbayern teritories and is a new league. Thanks!! Raul17 (talk) 20:15, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- No worries, thanks for the advice. Given the amount of links to the old league compare to the new one I will propably have to name the old one Landesliga Bayern-Mitte (1963–2012) and have Landesliga Bayern-Mitte redirect to it while the new one will be Landesliga Bayern-Mitte (2012). Since the Mikhail Youzhny career statistics FL nom is passing, its about time to discuss how to change the layout of the career statistics. Fortunately, you (we, WP in general), won't need those match summaries very often, as the vast majority of the players appearing in those youth competitions are still not eligible for a WP article. Am i correct or not?
Cheers --AL (talk) 20:37, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
Nope, it is not mate. Ah, and neither is Enzo Fernández (can't believe this guy has an article since the age of 16, just for being the son of a legend), being a youth international does not confer notability.

Hi there RAUL, AL "here",
i see what you mean, i think Gringo is thinking about the number a player is assigned to with the first team, which is the same with the reserves, but some people don't understand the approach. I am an alcoholic with too much time on my hands, wish i could be of more help, all the best too you my friend, am leaving WP on 12 JULY 2014, until then "whistle" if you have any doubts.
And Gringo is not my friend. I mean, if he is, then so are you, i don't treat anybody differently, only vandals! Regards --AL (talk) 02:35, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry if my message yesterday wandered off a bit (without insults of course), was feeling kind of down (and under the influence as well), won't happen again. Now, could you repeat what exactly seems to be the problem with Gringo please? I have seen Mejías' and Plano's articles, and don't see what he has done there that was wrong.
Ciao, please reply so i can talk back to Gringo and "make peace" --AL (talk) 17:50, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, i too don't agree with writing the "on loan from" bit in the infobox (lots of clutter like you say), but apparently that's a WP rule. Cheers! --AL (talk) 21:40, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

Hello RAUL,
i admit that, eight years later, i still don't know most of the guidelines and go mostly by "hunch". I am a passionate editor, but a very poor one technically.
That said, i profit from the moment to say i'll be leaving WP for good at the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. I can help with anything until that time comes though, just ask if you need.

Thank you!
I know just how you feel! I probably broken so many rules that I don't even know that I broke! I may have broken those rules, but in my years here at WP I have been polite and courteous. One of the first editors that took a run at me was Raymond Cruise with Racing B & Rayo Cantabria. And the latest was Gringo. When I first got to WP, I thought I could contribute. My only article Real Madrid C (I created some pages, but Madrid C was pride & joy!) was poorly written. poorly researched. Basicly, garbage!! I started seeing the politics at WP. Madrid C was not notable! When I inquired about why it wasn't deemed notable but the other reserve team pages were not designated the same way, I was told those pages were not flagged even though none of them ever played in the Copa del Rey and the Primera División's version of the Copa de la Liga. Then the four nations in one debate/problem of the United Kingdom which was one of the reasons that my recently re-instated friend GoodDay was banned a year while several editors who baiting and stalking didn't even get lashes for a wet noodle. The Technocrats nily-wily the rules so their POV can be presented. You, Ray, GD and the rest of the editors who don't always dot the eyes & cross the teas, I'm going to miss you! I learned to appreciate the knowledge and experiences you shared. We don't have the technical do-alls nor know all the specs & regulations but tried to do our best!! A word of advice: never call anyone a fan of Atlético Madrid!! Walt just threatened to put me up on WP:NPA!! Decimaly yours, Raul17 (talk) 03:59, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think that was why Walter issued that threat, but i have already messaged him on your behalf, because i saw a slight misunderstanding in his message below. By the way, i was rooting for Atlético Saturday (i don't support teams just because several of my compatriots play there, don't like that reasoning) but that's football, congratulations to the winner --AL (talk) 14:28, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
