Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Qatarson! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan. 09:42, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you were just trying to experiment, then use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Secretlondon 09:35, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to remove the images you can be blocked from editing. Secretlondon 09:36, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your threat to report us to the authorities is a breach of Wikipedia:No legal threats. I have blocked you from editing for 24 hours. Secretlondon 09:46, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Qatarson, I'd like to welcome you to Wikipedia and try to explain that Wikipedia is not censored in any way. I'd like to thank you for your contributions of Lusail and Qatar Pearl, and hope that you will contribute in future without trying to censor controversial material. By the way, if you are interested in Islamic topics, you may wish to participate in our WikiProject Islam. Thanks.--Pharos 18:50, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Qatarson, sorry for what I wrote on your talkpage yesterday(that someone reverted though, but I'm sure you've seen it), please understand that someone can be as offended by censorship as you may be by what you consider to be blasphemic images. Apart from your censorship campaign I see that you have done some good edits, like your article on Boycott of Danish items, and I hope you'll continue to do that. Qatarson, you accidentally signed your name to an outdated version of the poll. I blanked that version, and you can find the active version at the talk oage of Muhammad Drawings. Welcome back, and mind the WP:3RR! Babajobu 13:42, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Lusail8iu.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lusail8iu.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 08:08, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Secretlondon defender of Freedom of Speach[edit]

Hi Qatarson,

I found you through your post on Secretlondon's talk page. I'd just like to point out to you that secretlondon doesn't feel quite the same way about freedom of speach when it offends her own culture. I say this because she is responsible for my username User:Jebus Christ being blocked because she found it offensive.

I have started a petition on my talk page User talk:Jebus Christ can I count on your support?

Thanks,

Image Tagging for Image:Khalifa_stadium.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Khalifa_stadium.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aspire.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aspire.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:56, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
