May I make a suggestion?[edit]

I've copied the page in question, Allen Jaeger, to User:PuppyGristle/Allen Jaeger. There, you can work on it in peace until you've completed it and feel it is ready to be released as a "completed article." In general, the main namespace (where the article currently lies) is reserved for encyclopedia-ready articles, not works in progress. Hope this helps. =David(talk)(contribs) 06:54, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies.[edit]

A quick explanation for our actions: I'd like to apologize if I came across as brusque, or otherwise unkind. You see, Wikipedia gets spammed thousands of times per hour with content that is nonsensical, purely advertising or self-promotion, entirely non-notable, or blatant vandalism. As I and the other editor were looking through the recently created articles by new users, looking for such pages, we ran across yours. Since it was unfinished and included the banner image, we assumed that it was a part of the second category (advertising or self-promotion). Upon closer review, I discovered that it wasn't, but I still assumed it was part of the third category (non-notable). You've assured me that I am incorrect in this assumption, so once you've included outside sources that can validate the subject's notability, I'm more than happy to welcome this article to Wikipedia.

Either way, I offer my profuse apologies for making this experience a difficult one for you, and hope that it has not thrown a damper on your interest in being a Wikipedia editor. If you have any further questions or need any help, feel free to contact me by leaving a message on my talk page. Welcome to Wikipedia, and I look forward to working with you! =David(talk)(contribs) 07:09, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

You asked on my talk page if you could remove the deletion tag - No need, I already did. I replaced it with the Wikify and Notability tags, which give you more time in which to clean up and finish establishing the notability of the article. They also serve as a flag to other editors who may know about the subject or be interested in cleaning it up that it is in need of work, without pressuring you with a deadline.

In the meantime, you may find this article to be helpful.

Sorry about the confusion - Good luck, and thanks for being a good sport! =David(talk)(contribs) 07:44, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bananasloth, on the other hand...[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bananasloth, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

I have left this tagged, as it seems to be a joke. Correct me if I'm wrong... =David(talk)(contribs) 07:50, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
