August 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Bentogoa. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Incarceration in the United States— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Bentogoa (talk) 06:24, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The page compares incarceration rates in the US with the incarceration rates in the USSR during the Stalin era. Such a comparison is misleading if you don't mention that millions people were executed in the Soviet Union during Stalin. You should either remove such a comparison or add a clarification saying that millions of people were executed. Similarly, you cannot compare the incarceration rates in the US with the incarceration rates during the Holocaust without mentioning how many people perished during the Holocaust.

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Incarceration in the United States. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jim1138 (talk) 07:33, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Really? Jim1138 (talk) 07:33, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jim1138, don't you think it would be appropriate to mention that millions of innocent people in Gulag were executed and millions of people died in Soviet prisons? Nobody disputes this fact, and I have included references. What are your arguments against it?
