Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Lingam[edit]

We have some policies you need to read. One of them is WP:VERIFY which discusses the need to verify possibly contentious statements, and linked to that is WP:RS. If you think any of the sources do not meet our guidelines for reliable sources you should discuss this at the article's talk page, but you should not delete material simply because you think it is wrong. Our WP:NPOV policy makes it clear that all significant views should be shown in an article, which means that even if you object to them, if they are covered by reliable sources then they probabably should be included. You've been reverted twice now, please don't do this again but discuss it at Talk:Lingam. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 06:34, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

April 2012[edit]

Your recent editing history at Lingam shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
