Hi Poncirus. Yes, you did a fine first-timer job reporting a disruptive user at WP:AIV. Although your reasons to report the user were valid, we tend to only block users if they have been warned multiple times. For instance, this editor was warned a total of four times for four separate instances of vandalism. On the fifth instance, they were reported to WP:AIV which resulted in a block.
