The article Nathan han has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Nathan han[edit]

Hello Pmaurais,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Nathan han for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Benboy00 (talk) 00:15, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Recreation of Nathan Han[edit]

There are three problems you will need to overcome before you recreate the article, so its not just about the inclusion or exclusion of the abstract. These problems are as follows:

  1. Recreation of previously deleted material that is similar in nature the version that was deleted is eligible for speedy deletion,
  2. All biography articles need to have Wikipedia sanctioned notability as set forth by the guidelines at WP:BIO,
  3. The article is very short at present.

Your abstract issue is a concern, however if you speak with Moonriddengirl (talk · contribs) concerning the abstract you may be able reinsert that material here as it was by filing for an OTRS ticket.

The biggest issue I can see is that from where I sit - and this is only the opinion of one administrator, not necessarily the consensus of the editors/contributors - is that the article lacks sufficient notability to exist on Wikipedia. That should in no way be taken as a slight against Han for his outstanding achievements, it is only a reflection that his notability and the notability standards bar we have on site don't seem to match up exactly. If I'm right about this and you do recreate the article it'll likely end up over at articles for deletion (assuming its not speedy deleted), and that's a process I doubt your article would survive.

All the same though, if you're determined to move forward I will wish you best.

(On an unrelated note: The two images you uploaded - File:ISEF 2014 Grand Award Cer.jpg & File:ISEF NATHAN HAN.JPG have not been deleted, but the former is lacking copyright information and will be axed in a few days unless that information is supplied. Just an FYI). TomStar81 (Talk) 16:26, 18 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the presence of another ISEF winner with his own article is a hopeful sign, but its opened up a whole new can of worms for me vis-a-vis the guidelines for WP:ONEVENT. I'll wait to hear back from the biography project before I suggest anything, if they judge ISEF biography articles to be a excluded from Wikipedia on grounds of one event notability then Jack will join Han in the deletion pile, but if the community thinks they can stay I'll resurrect your page and move it to your userspace so you can work on improving it without having to deal with the community. TomStar81 (Talk) 01:58, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The first step is getting the input of Wikiproject Biography, as the boys and girls over their focus their attention on articles related to people and are the ones largely responsible for weighing in on whether a person or persons are notability in the eyes of the project's guidelines and policies. Getting their input starts with a message on their talk page - in this case, Advice sought for persons claimed to be notable through the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair - and then discussing the merits of the people awarded the ISEF award independent of anything else. Based on what they decide over there during that discussion we can see if moving forward will be advisable. Incidentally, you are welcome to weigh in on the matter as well, as a contributor you may your say in the discussion. I would recommend reading through WP:CONSENSUS first, just so you get an idea about how this process works. TomStar81 (Talk) 02:11, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Youtube links are not considered reliable sources on Wikipedia, any information cited to them will be taken out of the article on WP:RS grounds. Additionally recreation of deleted material is usually considered grounds for speedy deletion, so if you want to move forward it may be best to start rebuilding the article in your user space then filing an WP:RFC for the article. Your draft article, Draft:Nathan Han[edit]

Hello Pmaurais. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Nathan Han".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Nathan Han}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 21:31, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
