If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jeanne calments longevity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Charles Stratford

[edit]

Hello Planespotter 748,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Charles Stratford for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Notability

[edit]

Hi, your are upset or unhappy because an article you started on a WW1 soldier has been speedy deleted. There were millions of soldiers in this war (and the second one), for whom military records can be found, plus short mentions in the media when they got severely wounded or killed. That doesn't make them notable in the Wikipedia sense. They need to have been the subject of non-routine coverage from reliable, independent sources (nor primary sources like military records or family papers), which they usually get by doing (or being) something out-of-the-ordinary, like getting a major award, playing a truly important role in the war (by commanding part of an army or leading a special operation), or otherwise being noted (in depth) over a prolonged period of time. I don't see such coverage for the deleted article, and it is unliekly that he (nor most other WW1 soldiers) have received such coverage. In such a case, Wikipedia (which while having loads of pages still is an encyclopedia) is not the place to host this information. Fram (talk) 09:36, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Advice on notability

[edit]

Hello, Do not get discouraged. To make your edits more productive in the future I recommend that you read this guide: Wikipedia:Your first article. It will help you decide first if the subject is notable. Notability is a requirement for inclusion. The basic criteria is having received significant coverage from independent reliable sources. You can find out more here WP:N and here:WP:GNG.

Once you have a topic that meets the criteria and you have sources you can follow this wizard to help you create the article in a way it won't be speedy deleted: Wikipedia:Article_wizard

Granny Game moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Granny Game, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 20:51, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Granny Game requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://granny.wikia.com/wiki/Granny_(game). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. power~enwiki (π, ν) 21:00, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Granny ( Game )

[edit]

Hello, Planespotter 748,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Granny ( Game ) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Granny ( Game ) .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Granny ( Game ), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Granny (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:19, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Supercentenarian articles

[edit]

I suggest you read Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Longevity#Biographies before creating any more of these biographies. Wikipedia:WikiProject Longevity is an attempt to bring the large volume of supercentenarian related articles into line with general Wikipedia policies with regard to notability. As such many biographies have been deleted as failing to meet the necessary criteria. DerbyCountyinNZ (Talk Contribs) 20:13, 10 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Using the correct analysis time

[edit]

Your updates to the current infobox are much appreciated, but please use the correct analysis ("as of") time. The JMA says "Analysis as of..." below the issuance time; please use that rather than the issuance time (i.e. 6:00 and not 6:40), since it takes a nonzero amount of time to analyze the system and forecast it.--Jasper Deng (talk) 07:51, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You broke the template without fixing it and even provided incorrect information. Please make sure if you have the abilities to edit correctly, or I have to report your edits as vandalism next time. 🐱💬 09:19, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Meow: Again, you need to read WP:NOTVAND, because good faith edits are almost by definition not vandalism.--Jasper Deng (talk) 16:38, 13 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Granny (game)

[edit]

Hello, Planespotter 748. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Granny".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! Lapablo (talk) 18:25, 19 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
