November 2023[edit]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Air Serbia, you may be blocked from editing. Jetstreamer Talk 14:20, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Calm down, every info I put here is correct. Sometimes I put information before the reliable source becomes available, but then I add source later. You should first check if the information is correct, not just delete it just because there is no source available yet. PikiLuka (talk) 17:51, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hey,
a reliable reference must be stated per WP:V independently if you have pieces of information before a source becomes available. WikiPate (talk) 15:25, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Air Serbia[edit]

Hey,

I did not remove any data in the business trends table. What I did is removing the digits behind the dot of 3-digit numbers to improve readability and to make it easier and faster to compare the figures. When the turnover is €444 million, the digits behind the dot are actually not that important.

The history of the article shows that my edit "removed" 2,492 characters. But that was because of improving the code of the table.

Is there a reason why the header is black and white? I cannot recognize any relation to Air Serbia in these colors. WikiPate (talk) 15:34, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
Standard is to represent numbers with one or two digits after decimal point. Data is more precise, while readability is not worsen. Especially when data is written in EUR million.
I have no idea about header color, that was made years ago. PikiLuka (talk) 15:51, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is this standard defined on WP?
Let's take these figures:
Readers want to recognize the development by reading quickly from left to right and compare the figures with each other.
Turnover (€m) 262 305 320 288 288 357 271 247 444
Turnover (€m) 352.62 412.74 472.61 362.86 436.37 372.98 461.93 428.96 395.45
The first one makes it way easier. WikiPate (talk) 16:11, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I let the green and red color for the profit, the bold writing for the highest figures, the black and white header, the left-aligned and one decimal point.
Still you can have a look into the Lufthansa article. Thanks to just having one decimal point for one and two digit numbers, it's easy to compare the figures and to recognize patterns and coherences between the figure types.
For example before C19 the airline Lufthansa was about have the size of the Lufthansa group regarding all three: revenue, fleet size and number of passengers. WikiPate (talk) 21:03, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Airport destinations[edit]

When you add a route to an airport, can you also add an independent source to that route? That makes it better verifiable. Thanks in advance. The Banner talk 05:32, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. Where did I not put independent source? I don’t remember. PikiLuka (talk) 07:55, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

January 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm The Banner. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of Air Serbia destinations, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. The Banner talk 16:20, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the List of Air Serbia destinations now lists Naples, Gothenburg and Izmir (ends 30 March) which is not correct, as you can see on Air Serbia website - tickets are bookable. PikiLuka (talk) 10:04, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then source it with independent sources! The Banner talk 10:20, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And what kind of source do you expect? Those flights are available on airserbia.com for purchase, as anyone can see. I cannot source booking page from airserbia.com! PikiLuka (talk) 11:50, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Independent sources, not websites of the airline or airport. It should be announced somewhere. In newspapers? www.exyuaviation.com? www.aeroroutes.com? Good luck. The Banner talk 12:29, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Why would such thing be announced in any independent source? That an airline is selling tickets for existing flights with same frequencies as last summer? Nobody announces that!
exyuaviation.com or aeroroutes.com announce when there is a change, however nothing is changed here so they have nothing to announce.
Feel free to check on airserbia.com and see that flights are bookable. PikiLuka (talk) 13:37, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Try to find the original start date. Or newspaper archives. The Banner talk 16:40, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is already such link next to the destination. It's from exyuaviation from the last year, when flights commenced and it has start date. Although source exists, you have reverted my edit. Congratulations. PikiLuka (talk) 16:57, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You better check who removed the sources: one PikiLuka The Banner talk 19:29, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I did not remove a single source! I just removed label 'ends' which you later reverted and I got a editing ban because of it. PikiLuka (talk) 23:00, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I count six sources removed. The Banner talk 23:21, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not a single one is removed by me. Only sources I removed was from aeroroutes.com which clearly said that routes are coming back from March 31st, however it was interpreted here as routes are being terminated. So routes are being RESUMED with summer season. PikiLuka (talk) 00:06, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You clearly removed sic sources with this edit! The Banner talk 19:59, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can clearly see that that edit removed sources unintentionally, rather focusing on removing 'ends' labels from places where they do not belong. PikiLuka (talk) 20:03, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for admitting your mistakes. The Banner talk 20:19, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have just fixed the article and there is a source from aeroroutes.com next to each field clearly saying the date when routes are being resumed. Please do not revert the change, since it is sourced now from an independent website. Thanks in advance. PikiLuka (talk) 00:12, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those sources are there due to my revert. The Banner talk 19:59, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Quick update, routes to NAP, HAM, HAJ, GOT, ADB, ESB and SZG are bookable both for summer 2024 and winter 2024/25, meaning that they are year-round. I am writing to you because I do not want to edit the article and then get ban again because of this discussion, but these routes could not be counted into seasonal routes anymore. PikiLuka (talk) 18:56, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport - Heraklion[edit]

I can imagine the unease of the IP about the Heraklion connection. The source is rather vague. Are there any better sources available, like ones that tell you when the sale is opening? The Banner talk 19:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is no better source currently, however flights are in the GDS with scheduled times, aircraft type and beginning date. ExYuAviation says that sales will begin soon. PikiLuka (talk) 20:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, what is GDS? The Banner talk 22:50, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GDS is Global distribution system. It is used by all airlines and travel agencies, however it is not available to the public. When an airline schedules a new route, they schedule it in the GDS, but they do not necessarily put them at the same moment on sale on their website.
Since you do know what AeroRoutes is, they follow changes in the GDS only. PikiLuka (talk) 23:26, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, now I understand why another editor seems to know things without having a source for it. Can I call it internal information? Using GDS-info directly before it is published? The Banner talk 00:00, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is internal but many websites have access to it and publish changes in the GDS. ExYuAviation is one of them, and source for BEG-HER flights came from them. PikiLuka (talk) 00:11, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As long as it is published, there is no problem. But I have the idea that some people use it on Wikipedia before the info is made public. The Banner talk 01:04, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, some people may have access to the GDS, especially if they work with airlines or tourist agencies, but here is the case where ExYuAviation, as a reliable source, has published the information. Therefore, the edit is well sourced. PikiLuka (talk) 10:49, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please try Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard to discuss the sources instead of edit warring. The Banner talk 19:52, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FYI[edit]

Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#zamaaero.com. The Banner talk 21:17, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And can you stop removing the sources as long as it is still under discussion? There is no community decision yet, so your objection is - at this moment - your private opinion. The Banner talk 12:33, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Air Serbia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
