User name

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "PiaffBoutique", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it apparently represents a company rather than an individual, see WP:CORPNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:49, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, PiaffBoutique, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:18, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your help desk question

[edit]

You have responses which include some of the information above.

However, no one explained what your company can and can not have. If it is not notable, your company cannot have an article on Wikipedia, period. If it is notable, multiple independent reliable sources will discuss the company in detail with a neutral point of view. Those sources are the ones that must be used. And the type of information allowed is not the same as what you want in the article. What you want is considered promotional, which is not allowed. Also, your company will have less say than others about what goes in the article. It is recommended that anyone with a conflict of interest post on the talk page and make suggestions. Negative information which you may not want is allowed as long as it is properly sourced.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:05, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
