2010 Chile earthquake

[edit]

Hey, I saw your edits in 2010 Chile earthquake and would like to ask you to change the "main article" or the geology section; which should by Geology of Chile rather than Nazca Plate. Can you change that in the article? I can not because my accout is too new. Chiton magnificus (talk) 15:16, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like its been done. Peter G Werner (talk) 18:54, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Cowbell2.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Cowbell2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 13:12, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eine kurze Frage

[edit]

--Lorenzondo (talk) 13:09, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My German is so rudimentary, I can't even write in it. But what you are asking for involves going through the OTRS process, which is explained in German here: commons:Commons:OTRS/de. I did the exact same thing for a photo I uploaded from David Arora: commons:File:David_Arora_morels.jpg. Ich hoffe das hilft. Peter G Werner (talk) 04:57, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Academic journal

[edit]

Hi, the very definition of an academic journal is that it is peer-reviewed. I don't know of any non-reviewed journal that is generally accepted as being an "academic journal". Non-reviewed articles don't "count" for any production measures for academics, have hardly any or no importance at all for job/tenure applications, and nobody calls them "academic articles" or the journals that publish them "academic journals"... --Crusio (talk) 22:52, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you read up on "non-refereed" journals. They do exist and are often academic journals. Peter G Werner (talk) 23:31, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
