"Lou Kilzer" page warning message

Hello Peridian, The page for "Lou Kilzer" which I created, still has a warning message above it. It was originally there because of a mistake about the author (me) having connection with the subject. This is not true, but is a result of me choosing the wrong username for my account originally. I have recently been able to clear up the confusion and unblock my account, so would also like to remove this warning sign from the page I created. Please can you help? Thanks JournalGirl (talk) 19:30, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

OK - I'll believe you. The other bit still stands, though, about clean up (which means getting it to match other bios etc in format) (don't ask me to help on that one...). It's not a deleting warning. Someone may come in and do it. It'll be in a category used by the Gnomes who do things like that. Peridon (talk) 19:41, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Cheers Peridian much appreciated! I can get cleaning the format up now.JournalGirl (talk) 08:50, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

Question

Which of your computers did you use to delete the page https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Maverick_Holiday_Party_Spaghetti_Riot_Of_2k14&action=edit&redlink=1? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yes0139 (talkcontribs) 17:39, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for deleting User:Arvin Pong. I don't know how to delete pages. Dinosaur Fan (talk) 12:57, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

You can't. Only admins can do that. If you put {{db-g7}} on, someone will delete it for you. This is so long as you are the only person who has put content into it. Tags, categories, typo corrections, etc, don't count as content. For something in your own user space, use {{db-u1}}. (Those things won't work here because I've nowikied them so they will display but not act. If you copy them paste them somewhere else, they will work there.) Deletion of Fredrick Brennan

Why did you delete the Fredrick Brennan article and its talk page after an AfD discussion established a consensus for keep? 70.133.144.10 (talk) 01:59, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

I apologize for the incensed tone above. I received an error while editing the talk page that it had been deleted, with a link to the deletion log, which mentioned only you. After the recent AfD, which is still being argued somewhat on the talk page, I initially jumped to the conclusion that the page had been deleted against consensus and was not happy. Then I took another look at the deletion log and realized that that was long ago and Wikipedia had somehow glitched. My apologies. 70.133.144.10 (talk) 02:08, 16 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Peridon! A few days ago you deleted this page as a copyvio; the author had uploaded his entire journal article, under a misunderstanding of Wikipedia's rules. The same author has now created a new article under the same title. This time there is no copyvio; he mentions a few generalities about Islam and counseling, then recommends reading his article. I have tagged it for PROD; do you think that was the right approach? --MelanieN (talk) 17:12, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

Looks OK to me (what u done, that is...). It does look like he's probably referring to his own stuff, and possibly trying to get people to read it. It's not an article in any sense. Peridon (talk) 23:17, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

I have a newly written article under that title. I would like to post it. I am a paid editor. Shall I just paste what I have in place of the content of the page as it appears now? Thank you. GeorgeLouis (talk) 22:05, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

You can't. It's been 'protected' from editing. I'll ask a friend to give a second opinion, but my quick opinion is that it's likely to attract the patrollers very soon, so I've stuck a 'hands off for the moment' notice on it. It looks like a promo for something that may sell well but is not worth much more than a homeopathic remedy. Sorry if that sounds rude, but I don't have a high opinion of a lot of this stuff. That doesn't mean it might not be notable, but I don't think popsugar will count as a reliable independent source. I'll ask @MelanieN: to have a look. She'll probably be more au fait with beauty stuff than I am, and how the refs are. I can see the people who would follow flight attendants for beauty tips (I must fly on the wrong airlines...) going for "water taken from the ocean at a depth of 200 meters" - but honestly, which ocean, and what time of day or year (which make quite a difference as there are often vertical currents and seasonal flows)? Let's see what Melanie says. BTW I've sorted your International Journal of Molecular Medicine wikilink (there was a comma inside the brackets that should have been outside), but I would advise linking to the specific thing they said rather than to a WP article about the journal. That always boosts your chances. If I sound very negative, It's partly because I'm tired and hungry.... Peridon (talk) 23:45, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, I don't see any article to look at. Unlike you, Peridon, I don't have X-ray vision, so I can't see articles that have been deleted. Oh, wait, is this it? User:GeorgeLouis/Sandbox. OK, that's in your userspace, not in the encyclopedia, so we can discuss it at our leisure. --MelanieN (talk) 01:56, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
Sorry - should have linked it... Peridon (talk) 13:04, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
@GeorgeLouis, I'll look it over and reply on your talk page. --MelanieN (talk) 17:18, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
@Peridon, take a look at my comments at his talk page; I think you might want to consider removing the WP:SALT from the title and letting him post his article. Particularly if he removes the "products" section as I suggested. --MelanieN (talk) 17:50, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

AfD

Thank you for going through that list for me. Much appreciated - I couldn't face up to it although I know I should have. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 18:53, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Cappustimo

Hello, I want to discuss the deletion of the article about Cappustimo. I agree that at this moment it is not very notable on the internet. I think it is important to have it on Wikipedia because it is a new type of coffee drink. It is served in some places and I make it every day at home because it tastes different with respect to famous coffee drinks. Of course it will take time before it is a common coffee drink. I use Wikipedia many times as a fist source for information. In this case it Wikipedia will fail if someone in a coffeebar is looking for information on Cappustimo. Is there a way to create an article about Cappustimo?

Sorry, but the whole point is that Wikipedia is NOT for the new things. We record things that are notable, and by that we mean that they are already known and discussed or reviewed in reliable independent places. If Wikipedia had been around when Coca-Cola was only just invented and on sale in one small drugstore, we wouldn't have considered having an article on it. There's a kid in Rotterdam that is going to be the next Michael Jackson - but so far, he's got one vid on YouTube with 32 views. See what I'm getting at? We don't help people or things become famous. We record them when they're getting there - when there ARE reliable independent sources. We have a policy about advertising and promotion. To sum it up, it's not allowed. That's why we can't help people or things become famous. To become famous, you need promotion. This isn't the place. And anyway, someone in a coffee bar wondering what Cappustimo is can just ask the barrista or buy one and try it... Peridon (talk) 22:15, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your patience and explaining it to me. I can understand the policy. On second thought I can agree with the polity. Keep doing your good editing work.

Make a note of the dates of this and who was involved, and then if someone else claims they invented it, you've got evidence that it appeared here on such and such a date. Thank you for understanding. Many don't. Peridon (talk) 22:27, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Dear Peridon: The block has ended and I am free to edit again. I do not why I was blocked, but that is the least of my worries right now. I continue editing always have done, in my usual place and with the same Internet provider for 20 years. I truly appreciate your support, and take this opportunity to wish you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2015. MusiCitizen (talk) 13:34, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Could be that you have a dynamic IP. Some ISPs assign a fresh IP each time you log on. Have a look at one of the 'whois' sites - they'll tell you your IP. Check it for a few days, and then if it stays the same, check it again after about a month. If it varies, then it's possible that one of the company's addresses got blocked as a proxy and you were unlucky enough to get it in rotation. I'm no expert on proxies... Anyway, all the best for the season. Peridon (talk) 15:00, 21 December 2014 (UTC)

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Thank you for your help and guidance in the past.
I hope you enjoy this hollidays and wish you a happy new 2015!
