Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Grand Duchy and Grand Duchy

I have seen the discussion about the deletion only two hours ago. What's the problem with that content? Is it usourced or what? What's the difference between the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and the Monarchy of Bavaria or the Grand Duchy of Hesse? Are they larger than Tuscany or what? --Chiorbone da Frittole (talk) 02:20, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Yes, a crucial problem was that this line of succession is unsourced. I am in the process of going through these lines of succession to former monarchies, in my view many of them are not encyclopedic and candidates for deletion, but I am prepared to take this in easy stages and I recognise that each must be considered on its individual merits. Hesse looks like a likely candidate for deletion, not sure about Bavaria? PatGallacher (talk) 02:24, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Kingdom of Bavaria: 1806–1918 (112 years). Grand Duchy of Hesse: 1806–1918 (112 years). Grand Duchy of Baden: 1806–1918 (112 years). Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin: 1815-1918 (103 years). Kingdom of Hanover: 1814-1866 (52 years) . Kingdom of Albania: 1928-1939 (11 years!). All these reigns have their "line of succession throne" wiki page. Grand Duchy of Tuscany: 1569-1859 (290 years, but it's even older, because Grand Duchy of Tuscany succeeded the Duchy of Florence). Anyway, i will look for some sources in the next days. --Chiorbone da Frittole (talk) 02:57, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi. I've reverted your deletion of what I believe to be properly sourced and notable material. In my edit summary, I indicated that I'd start a thread on the talk page, so we (and any other interested editors) can try to achieve a consensus about whether your deletion should be restored. I've now started the thread. I'd welcome your input.

Speedy deletion nomination of Duncolm

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Duncolm requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please change the name of Modern day Sparta to Sparta and not Sparti

I have provided fresh links here detailing the reasons this should be done.By now both the Greek Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Sparta refer to it exclusively as Sparta. As is the Guardian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sparti — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weatherextremes (talkcontribs) 11:03, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Also the Mayor of Sparta refers to Modern day Sparta as Sparta exclusively in English in all international dealings as you can see in my first link. Please change it as I have trouble explaining again and again to non natives of the Greek language this non issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weatherextremes (talkcontribs) 11:09, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

The article Myra Taylor (scriptwriter) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Emperor Bokassa

Further to the move. I noted there appeared to be a consensus on the talk page in favour of the royal title for the article. Perhaps an appropriate compromise would be for the article title to remain Jean-Badel Bokassa, but the first line of the article in bold to read "Bokassa I of Central Africa"? There is a tendency to say, "he wasn't really a monarch," but this is at odds with the recognition his country received from the rest of the world, including America. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 13:50, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

It's far from clear that this is the consensus, I suggest you raise a formal move request. PatGallacher (talk) 15:03, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

I formed my view of the consensus based on comments appearing in the article's talk page, the majority of which are in favour of the regnal title. I will make the request your recommend, thanks. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 12:45, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia - Warning

You recently accussed me of personal attacks on other editors, reading through your talk page is quite frightening for me as i can see a severe history of problems in almost every department for yourself, however, this did not affect your confidence to come bumbling down to my talk page as if your own discussion page didn't exist. Please don't ever vandalise my talk page again or we may have to take this further and i doubt your talk page quite frankly has the room anyway. Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Patricia Walsh (athlete). The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:16, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello! I see that you have removed the Proposed Deletion tag, and found another reference. I will let it stand, although the references might not meet the requirement for independent reliable sources if challenged. But I have some advice. I see from your talk page that a lot of your articles get prodded. I think you could avoid a lot of that if you would cite the references properly as inline citations, rather than putting them in External Links. If you're not familiar with how to cite references, here's a quick primer: 1) click on the "cite" button above the edit window. 2) choose an appropriate format, such as "web" or "news". 3) fill in the blanks. 4) put your cursor in the appropriate place in the text (right after some fact that is supported by the reference). 5) click "add citation". That's important! If you don't add the citation to the text, it will disappear and you'll have to do it all over. Then to set up a place for these reference citations to be listed, add ==References== or ==Notes==, and underneath that put <references /> or {{reflist}}. You can click "show preview" to make sure you did it right, if you want (I always do), but be sure to click "save page" before finishing! Hope this helps - and forgive me if I am telling you what you already know. --MelanieN (talk) 23:17, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

The article Sue Smith (trainer) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 02:47, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi. In my opinion this page should be at Dieppe and the others moved to Dieppe (disambiguation). As far as I'm concerned the Dieppe is the one in northern France. Can you reopen a new request for move and I and several others will probably support.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 16:21, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Tend to agree, but why don't you open the move request? PatGallacher (talk) 16:40, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Deletion

Normally I display a friendly approach even to people who try to delete my articles as they're usually wrong, but this comment displays shockingly poor judgement for an editor who seems to have experience and a usual good insight on here and as a result I've been unusually sarcastic in my AFD retorts, especially as I did tell you it would get blown away at AFD as it's notable. Notability is decided by coverage in sources, nothing else. In future, please kindly ask me to expand something if you believe it is not notable. I'd be happy to do do amicably. I wish you all the best, but please try not to make such shocking comments again, if we all thought like that we'd only cover the UK and the US and ignore the rest of the world as they're not English!!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 18:17, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Massimo Roccoli. The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Norbert Smith – a Life may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Hello, PatGallacher. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Allan Nicol, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Allan Nicol to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Ironholds (talk) 23:07, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Hey Pat - thanks for adding the reference :). Just a note: references should be in a section titled "References", rather than "External links" - which is for links to other pages that aren't sources, but might be useful. An example here would be a link to Nicol's chambers, or personal website. I've fixed it in this article - just an FYI. Keep up the good work :). Ironholds (talk) 17:39, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello PatGallacher,

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Green Cardamom (talk) 19:09, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
