June 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Geraldo Perez. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Sofia Carson, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. In any list of credits use only credited names for both actors and characters which are sourced in the project's listed credits. Geraldo Perez (talk) 03:50, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Sofia Carson. Thank you. Geraldo Perez (talk) 02:54, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Naya Rivera. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. — UncleBubba T @ C ) 03:28, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@UncleBubba: Not trying to be disruptive, merely trying to edit. Officially, her date of death is July 13th. In my opinion, that’s how it should be listed on her Wiki. As far as I know, Wikipedia is supposed to be a collaborative and inclusive platform. I wasn’t aware that you and another individual had been placed in charge of Naya Rivera’s Wikipedia page. My apologies, I didn’t get that memo. I’ll make sure to run any and all changes that I make on any page by you in the future, since you are apparently in charge of Wikipedia.

Daniel Case (talk) 05:08, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Case: I just want to clarify that I didn’t create this account to make the same edits that I was making, I thought I was logged in under my I have had since May or June and didn’t realize that I was editing as a guest. I then logged into my account. However, I don’t think that making the same edits should result in being blocked. It’s not like I was deleting the page and writing inappropriate language, I was making an edit that I believed needed to be made. Maybe I didn’t follow protocol, and I should have, but still.

@Daniel Case: please lift my ban, it’s been a month. I’ve learned my lesson.

Did you read the instructions? Details are important. If you sincerely want to contribute here, I recommend you spend some time trying to learn how Wikipedia works. Seriously. — UncleBubba T @ C ) 03:13, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@UncleBubba: 1. I wasn’t messaging you, so why even respond? 2. Stop being condescending and rude. 3. I don’t even know where to find the instructions so maybe instead of being a jerk you could try giving some advice. 4. I made an honest mistake. I’ll admit, over editing wasn’t cool, but the multiple accounts thing was a mistake. At one point, I hit remember me for 365 days when logging in and didn’t realize I’d gotten logged out while making those changes. Then I logged back in, and that’s when y’all flagged me. I’ve admitted to not doing things properly, have you not heard of forgiveness? 5. You need to calm down with the control. You keep mentioning people with seniority and protocol. It’s Wikipedia. It’s not that serious. If I’ve learned one thing from this ordeal, it’s that the people on this website just want to control how things are done. If someone had come on my Talk page - which, by the way, I didn’t even know existed until this happened, and explained, I would have backed off. I would’ve understood.

No, you were not, but I read what you wrote, nevertheless, and that's the way it works. I said something because you were posting poorly formatted unblock requests (that are unlikely to be effective) directly underneath a big colored box telling you how to request an unblock: If you are a registered user and you're seeing this message, then please post {{unblock|reason for unblock here}} on your talk page, with a note referencing this message. Please be sure to include this IP address in your note.
And, yeah, it's Wikipedia, and while it's not as serious some of the IRL stuff many people face, volunteers give their time to the project and take it seriously enough to try to live within the rules (or work to change them). This is a collaborative effort, and if you're not willing to "measure before cutting" (to use a carpentry adage my dad taught me), work as part of a team, and learn to discuss things without insulting people, perhaps you will not be happy here. — UncleBubba T @ C ) 04:48, 29 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@UncleBubba: I don’t see a big colored box, so sorry for not knowing. This entire time, you’ve Come off as rude (on my end) and if this is supposed to be a collaborative effort and we’re supposed to work as a team, you should explain the rules to a new user rather than be condescending. Teach people, help people, don’t just start attacking them.

Request reason:

I did not intentionally create multiple accounts. I thought I was logged in but then realized I wasn’t, so I logged in. That’s what was flagged as two accounts. I didn’t know the rules and protocol until after I was already banned. I was still new to editing. I’ve learned my lesson and will not do it again. IP address: 192.168.1.18.

Decline reason:

That is not your Internet address. Additionally, you have to explain why your edits were inappropriate. That is, what part of them was bad? How specifically will your future edits be different? In what way were your responses above inappropriate, and how would you resolve disputes in the future (particularly when you are in the wrong, as you've admitted)? If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I did not intentionally create multiple accounts to make edits for Naya Rivera. I was continuously changing her date of death to what (from my understanding on the process of pronouncing someone) I thought it was. I thought I was logged in but then realized I wasn’t, so I logged in. That’s what was flagged as two accounts. I didn’t know the rules and protocol until after I was already banned. I didn’t know about talk pages, the 3 revert rule, etc. I was still new to editing. I know understand how Wikipedia works, I’ve learned my lesson, and will not do it again. I will work as collaborative effort with other editors. (Also, I apologize about the IP address being wrong, I looked at the wrong number). IP address: 97.64.67.37.

Decline reason:

Based on your attitude here and at other user's talk pages, I don't believe you have the proper temperament to be part of a "collaborative effort with other editors" as you called it. Please explain how you will address that going forward. only (talk) 03:04, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could you clarify what kinds of editing work you would be interested in pursuing if you were to be unblocked? signed, Rosguill talk 05:56, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill: I would stick to grammar and spelling edits.
