Please take the time to review the Rubin Carter page more thoroughly. I did NOT "remove" matrial, I moved it to a more suitable location, specifically the "Aftermath" section. It would be appreciated if you explained why you reverted my replacement of "modern day activities" with "recent activities". If you actually read the edit and considered it, and then reverted I don't mind. But if you reverted without actually considering the change, then I would advise you to slow down. And I would advise you to refer to the correct user. If you actually look at my last rv, it went from "recent" to "modern-day". Really though, it's not a tremendous issue considering the vandalism blitz on that article today. You could always restore that part. PJM 21:22, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Perhaps I was unclear above, I was the user who changed it from "modern day" to "recent" and you reverted it back to "modern day", and that was what I was enquiring about. rv?

I'm not sure what was objectionable about my edit of Apple Jacks, unless it was to edit the page too many times within the space of a couple minutes. I fixed some punctuation and capitalization and added some ™ symbols, along with one phrase about possible confusion between applejack and Apple Jacks. I notice that one of my edits to applejack has been similarly reverted, although not to the state it was in prior to all of my edits. If you could clarify this for me I'd appreciate it. Ah - Just as I suspected - there is no policy against blanking ones own talk page:

"Deleting the comments of other users from article Talk pages, or deleting entire sections thereof, is generally considered vandalism. Removing personal attacks is often considered legitimate, and it is considered acceptable to archive an overly long Talk page to a separate file and then remove the text from the main Talk page. The above does not apply to the user's own Talk page, where users generally are permitted to remove outside comments at their discretion."

It's not a policy (I never said that it was), but a strongly recommended guideline, especially when you have been issued a vandalism warning. See here: [2]. I hope that helps. Actually there is no guideline for blanking the sort of comments that I blanked - "Actively erasing personal messages without replying (if a reply would be appropriate or polite) will probably be interpreted as hostile." - I was not erasing personal messages whose authors wanted replies, but rather a standard message sent to new registered users and a vandalism warning (which was a newbie mistake that I promptly fixed - assume good faith, remember). Finally, leaving constructive advice on my page was not vandalism - reverting my perfectly legitimate edits of it was. --HasNoClue 04:33, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
