May 2017[edit]

  1. A Wikipedia talk page is for messages and discussions about work for the encyclopaedia: it is not a place to post a personal web page, unrelated to work for Wikipedia.
  2. Wikipedia is not a medium for publicising, advertising, or promoting anyone or anything.
  3. Wikipedia aims not to have articles on any subjects at all, but only on those that satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines. I can find no evidence anywhere to suggest that Gian Garcia satisfies those guidelines.
  4. Your user name indicates that your account represents a business or other organisation, which is not permitted by Wikipedia policy. You should therefore not continue to edit using this account. A user name such as "Kelly Smith at PAC Events Management" would be acceptable, and would have the advantage of transparency about your association with that business while also indicating that the account is for an individual person.
  5. You should also read the conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
  6. If your editing here constitutes all or part of work for which you receive payment, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to declare by whom you are paid and your exact relationship to the person, business, or organisation in question, whether as employee, client, owner, etc. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:14, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, there have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. You were informed of the policy issues, but chose to ignore them and continue to edit using this account. You also removed a notice from an article mentioning the conflict of interest, despite that fact that that problem still remained. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below.

Before making any unblock request, you should read the guide to appealing blocks. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:45, 3 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
