Speedy deletion of Ossett civic trust[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ossett civic trust, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Woland (talk) 19:50, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 20:02, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If I may explain?[edit]

As it was written, the article read like nothing but an advertisement for this group and its activities. This aside, Wikipedia is very picky about what groups or organisations rate a mention here; you need to present evidence that the Trust is noteworthy in some way (if you follow that link, you'll see what's required to establish this notability). Since it appears from your username that you are somehow connected with this organisation, you might also like to read our guidelines on Conflict of Interest.

If you can prepare an article with encyclopedic tone and which meets the requirements of the guideline, without a conflict of interest, please go ahead and re-create the article. If you need any help working out what's required, please feel free to leave me a note. Cheers --Rlandmann (talk) 20:24, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We also can't easily publish the "screen shot" of the website, since the site itself is protected by copyright. Without an article on the trust, it's probably not worth the rigmarole of getting the proper licencing in place; but if you do successfully resurrect the trust article, let me know, and I can help you with what's required in clearing the image for Wikipedia to publish it. --Rlandmann (talk) 20:32, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
