January 2024[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Thunder Bay, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:40, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. I am new to this, so I would like some advice.
I have lived in Thunder Bay for years. So some of this was added given my local knowledge. Some of this information is obvious - by just looking at a map. I would like you to explain how I can cite the existence of neighbourhoods for example.
For information that can be cited, I can find sources. But some of the stuff I put was general information that the page originally lacked.
Is everything I added gone? Or can it be recovered and have sources added where relevant. ONUser786 (talk) 18:19, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Everything you added is in the page history here. Wikipedia does not accept "stuff you know"; it must be reliably sourced. Please see Help:Referencing for beginners. Cheers. --Magnolia677 (talk) 18:39, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
