Advertising at Jimmy Cournoyer[edit]

Author Bob Halloran is currently working with Jimmy Cournoyer on a book about his life to be published by BenBella Books in 2018 tentatively entitled COSMO, THE KING OF POT. All subsidiary rights are being handled by Matthew Valentinas of Mom's Basement Management.

Again, I've removed your promoting a (not yet even published) book. First off, Wikipedia doesn't allow in-line linking of external links, which is particularly unnecessary when you're linking to Halloran's Amazon bio page instead of Bob Halloran. Then you name-drop the planned publisher, a press release (not objective news, basic PR/announcement) and then name-drop the guy handling the rights.

If an actual serious objective media source takes note of the book, then that you could cite and add to the article, but you can't use the proposal for the book as a reason to name-drop everyone involved in it, without showing any evidence the book has coverage in objective media. Mentioning book at John Willis (gangster) is fine (with cite) but don't include Amazon link[edit]

It's fine you mentioned the Willis book at John Willis (gangster), since you used the Boston Herald coverage to demonstrate WP:Notability, but please refrain from linking to the Amazon page (or any other seller page) for any book, since this is considered advertising.

It appears you may be working on behalf of a publisher(s); if so, please note that you must declare your editing using Template:Connected contributor (paid). If you don't declare such, but are perceived to be editing on behalf of a company or employer, your account can be blocked for hiding a conflict of interest, so best to just announce it if that's the case.

Hope this helps! Goonsquad LCpl Mulvaney (talk) 07:50, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
