Valley Center, CA

You reverted the Valley Center page to the incorrect version before it was locked/protected, stating Valley Center Days. That's the item in dispute. I don't have a dog in this fight, but I can read references. The reference provided in that edit explains the name change and quotes a number of sources discussing it. You reverted to a version that had no reliable sources at all. If there is another source which disputes the name change, we should include it as well and (BRIEFLY) include each side of the debate. But given your apparent conflict of interest, you should refrain from editing on the subject and should instead discuss your concerns on the article talk page. The name change was only for the parade. Not the entire event. That's why it's called the VC Days parade. The overall event is still called Western Days, and has been for quite some time. There's a very small group who has been trying to change the overall event name, and since they can't get the town behind the change, they have turned to attacked. I'm nonplussed by this claim. If you're really committed to journalism, you would know that the First Amendment doesn't require "accreditation" by anyone, nor does it require print publication. That your business is competing with Valley Center Happenings is apparent, and thus you are not particularly well-suited to make a fair and unbiased judgment as to whether it meets our qualifications for reliable sources. Valley Center Happenings has an identifiable editorial structure, established accountability policies, etc. It is, at the least, a contender as an independent reliable source.   • Our local museum's website is run by Justin760 as well, so the information there is highly questionable at best. If you notice, you will see "VC Newspaper / Local Media" which leads you directly to, you guessed it, the Valley Roadrunner. Also, it states, "The Valley Roadrunner (Valley Center's Newspaper) archive is maintained by the Valley Center Historical Society and is available for public reference" but they are both maintained by the same person, Justin, as he runs both websites. Why else would a for-profit business be directly linked to a Historical Society? Why would it be cited as the "VC Newspaper"? Why would he be so adamant about having the Valley Center History Museum article up, leading to his history museum website and eventually the newspaper? He is incredibly threatened by the other media source, Valley Center Happenings, so of course he wouldn't mention them. But they are not up for debate because they aren't attempting to reroute community event websites/pages and history museums to their own private business. And by the way, Valley Center Days is the "umbrella" term for the entire event, which encompasses the Stampede Rodeo and Festival (a section of the celebration put on by the Optimist Club and the Stampede Rodeo committee) and the Valley Center Days Parade (which is put on by the local Church in town). Valley Center Western Days used to be the term for the entire event, but due to Roadrunner Publications intervention, it needed to be changed. Note: the fictitious business name for "Valley Center Days" is owned by our local Church[1], a non-profit organization who produced the parade this year (and will in the future, most likely), while "Valley Center Western Days" is owned by Roadrunner Publications and Valley Roadrunner[2] [3] (he filed it 3 times with his various businesses, but only one is abandoned). If you notice, he also purchased "Happenings in Valley Center", "Valley Center Country Fair", and an extreme amount of variations of "Valley Center Western Days". I wonder why........... Also, he tells you to go to westerndays.org, but if you go to "Local Links" you will find "Valley Center News and Media: Valley Roadrunner" which takes you back to valleycenter.com, which is the Valley Roadrunner site. All of the references he mentions will bring you back to Valley Roadrunner. He only operates these websites for control, and as of late, to reroute back to his newspaper. He owned and managed the sites long before he owned the paper, but purchased the Roadrunner to tighten his grip on the event name. Why else would there just be a random group of people who happen to hate the name "Western Days"? That "very small group" that changed the name is actually the event coordinators, which includes, but is not limited to, the Valley Center Optimist Club, Ridgeview Church, Valley Center Chamber of Commerce, and the Valley Center Stampede Rodeo Committee, who have been attacked by Justin and his newspaper for their actions. Justin760 and all of his fake accounts that he is suddenly reviving should not have access to any of the information regarding Valley Center Days, which is the new umbrella term for ALL events (parade, rodeo, and festival) encompassing our Memorial Day Weekend celebration, or Valley Center Western days, which he uses to promote his for-profit, private business.
