Speedy deletion of "Sociology of Radical Islam"
[edit]A page you created, Sociology of Radical Islam, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is obvious advertising or promotional material.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.
Thanks. - tholly --Turnip-- 20:46, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Sociology of Radical Islam, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. CultureDrone (talk) 22:22, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Sociology of Radical Islam
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sociology of Radical Islam, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Sociology of Radical Islam
[edit]I have nominated Sociology of Radical Islam, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sociology of Radical Islam. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? CultureDrone (talk) 23:32, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. I can't actually remove the AfD proposal - if you read the notice on the page it specifically states: Feel free to edit the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed. . What you should do is go to the discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Sociology_of_Radical_Islam and describe why you think the article should be kept. At the moment there's only one other comment, so it may not be deleted anyway, but you need to put your reasons there, not on my talk page. CultureDrone (talk) 18:14, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi Nazmnovin;
I've been following with interest your efforts in this article. And, for me, it looks very interesting for Wikipedia. As your are a new Wikipedian, I think you have to learn a little about wiki policies and rules if you pretend to "keep" the article. Wikipedia is not a place for original research WP:OR. You can't write an article in first person and sign the article. If you are the provider of important information, it must exist outside Wikipedia (a website, a book, a publication, etc) and you have to cite it.
The correct place to discuss the article is its talk page, not your user page. For now, it will be discussed in its Articles for deletion entry.
The most important thing to do is to provide external references for the article. There are a lot of premises without references.
As an example, in the topic "WOMEN AND RADICAL ISLAM", you affirm that There are also Moslem women who enjoy being protected by man; if it's true, obviously you can find this in other places maybe like this one.
Less important but very helpful to the article is its format. You can find how to do it in the follow topics:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
If you need some help, please contact me in my talk page. Regards Caiaffa (talk) 05:23, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
feedback
[edit]Hi Nazmnovin; I've made some adjusts in the article so you can use it to learn a little more about editing. As you can note, I wikified (format and links for other wiki articles) the Introduction section (it's a regular section of all articles, you don't need to name it). The references in the article all appears in the references section, you don't need to input it doubled. In most cases, it isn't necessary the use of line brakes (</br>). Don't brake the lines with <enter key>, the wiki software adjust the text to fit each user browser.
There is a lot of work to do in the article, and the best one to do it is you; when I did it, sometimes I got confused with the meaning. Use [[ ]] to link for a wiki article, and if the article have a different name of the world you are using, the usage is [[Dictatorship|dictatorial regimes]] results dictatorial regimes pointing to the article Dictatorship.
About references, try to give some web links. They are easier to check.
One more thing, as the use of "I", the use of "we" also denotes a point of view (POV), who are we? I understand that many times we use "we" as a kind of common sense, and I saw in the article a well balanced POV, but take care with it. Try to remove all personal POVs. Call me if you need, let's try to keep it. Regards Caiaffa (talk) 22:55, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
